Kilmer Creek 5 Foot Cedar Porch Swing, Stained Finish, Amish Crafted, Includes Chain & Springs

Texas heat kills furniture and anything left out in the sun, just plain and simple. I had to replace my porch swing, and everything that I looked at was either cheaply made or over-priced.Along comes Kilmer Creek... and I ordered this swing.It is easy to assemble, and fitted perfectly on my swing frame. The Cedar Wood is beautiful. The picture does not do it justice.I thought that sitting on a wooden swing would be uncomfortable, but surprisingly I have no complaints about enjoying the warm breezes at night, sitting on my swing and having an iced tea. The swing seat is curved and lovingly accommodates my ample butt. The back is at a comfortable angle too.Assembly is very easy. I had a question about placement of the chains on the swing, and I called "customer service". Mr Kilmer, himself, answered... and was sweet & courteous, and extremely helpful.If you have a porch, you'd need to buy eye-bolts and reinforce the ceiling... but my sturdy metal frame was more than adequate. The wood has a beautiful satiny finish. I get compliments from my neighbors, and friends who saw the picture I posted on Facebook wrote to me and asked me about the swing. At least one gal will be buying her hubby this swing for Fathers' Day.

I should have known something was wrong when we opened the box and found one end had been packing taped shut. It was impressive at first look. But upon assembly, three seat back rails were split at the top and a screw passed through one of the bolt holes, making it impossible to assemble. Since it was a Christmas present, I was disappointed to not be able to put it together and hang it for my wife! Waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. Poor quality for "Amish craftsmanship." See the attached photos.I have heard from the manufacturer within hours of contacting him. He has promised a new seat and back to replace the defective ones. I may have to revise the rating if all goes well.We are pleased with the way it looks.We received the replacement parts and they are in good shape. The seller was very easy to work with.

I am a mother of ten (yes, ten) children. I purchased this swing in 2013 it’s now 2019 and it has seen A LOT of use! As you can well imagine! I’m amazed that my kids haven’t destroyed it yet. My friend recently purchased a house and that was one of her first questions, “where did you get that swing?” So she’s had it in her “new house” wishlist since before her closing. Love the swing. Many morning and evenings spent on it. Thank you!

I have been using this swing for several months now and am quite happy with it. If I had only one complaint to make, it is that the depth of the seat on the swing is a bit shorter than I would have preferred. It replaced an earlier swing that I had been using for over 10 years, so I was desperate to find a good quality, well-made swing to replace it. It is very comfortable to sit in, though as a tall man over 6 feet tall, I wish it had a bit more depth from the seat back to the curved lip of the seat. The quality of the product is spot-on, however, and I am more than pleased with that. I also purchased the stained, finished model, because I live in sunny Florida and even though the swing is under the shade of an oak tree much of the day, it will still get a lot of sun exposure, and of course, lots of rain during the wet season. So far the swing's finish has held up to the vagaries of Florida weather, though I am noticing that the shiny finish has dulled a little from daily exposure to the weather here in SW Florida. It was not that difficult to assemble, though having a helper would have made it a bit easier. I like that the swing has two supports in the middle as it makes it very sturdy to sit on and I think will help make the swing stick around for a long, long time. The cedar wood was cut well, and I had no difficulty aligning the holes on the seat back and bottom in order to insert the carriage bolts to connect them together. I also find the chains and related parts for hanging the swing to be of good quality, and proper for the task. They still look like new even after all these months in the Florida sun, and show not one whit of rust or oxidation anywhere on them. Bravo to the good people who make and sell these swings. They did a marvelous job. Now if only they would make a model that was just a bit larger for us folk with larger bottoms! LOL!

Very handsome bench. My family of 4 can fit in it. Love the color and texture. I (mom) assembled it with some help of 9 y/o daughter within 1 1/2hours. I separately purchased heavy duty swing hanger and screws for it which my husband installed. I am happy it came with very sturdy spring which reduces impact to the hanger, and add some fun in riding the swing bench. All in all, it was easy to assemble and feels strudy and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Because it hangs by chains you need to stand up when exiting the bench. Do not push down on the bench when standing up. Pushing down the bench will swivel out from under you causing you to fall backwards.The bench is comfortable, relaxing and built very good. One of my adult sons helped me assemble and hang the bench.
