GE Appliances WX08X10086 Dryer Duct

This Dryer Duct is the same duct that Costco uses when they install a clothes dryer appliance during delivery. Not sure if that's the case for all installs, but it's the one they installed for me. I needed a replacement for the one they installed and this one works great. If you are looking for the same one, then this is it!I tried other semi rigid ducts, but they are too strong and thick and do not flex as good as this one does. I need the duct to be very flexible so I can push my dryer against the wall in a tight space and this is the only one that can do that. The other foil ducts are even more flexible, but they collapse and don't have good airflow like this duct does.

Hose not fitting over wall or washer fittings. Bought different one which did not fit either. Went back to this one which is high quality and to code. Used wire cutter and cut first 5 wire rings and was able to get a reasonable fit -- then a yard of aluminum duct tape over that. So far so good. Cramped up behind the dryer and took two shots of whiskey to straighten up again. Very high quality but hard to work with.

Equivalent to the same product in a big box store.

I don't clean out my dryer vents as much as I should (zero times in the last 6 years) and so I decided to do a full replacement of the duct running from the dryer behind my washer to the exterior wall. It stretches a decent amount of distance and ended up having a LOT of lint in it which likely decreased the efficiency of the dryer but also presented a huge fire risk. Glad to have gotten this out of the way. This is a good value compared to where I could purchase it locally. Peace of mind also with the GE name compared to other vents that I may not be able to trust would last me another 6 years (because pulling out a washer and dryer with a LOT of stuff stacked on top is no fun at all). Would highly recommend!!

Why didn’t I recieve clamps in one of the packages?

This dryer duct is exactly what you would expect. It is sturdy but easy to install and can be used on a variety of dryer brands, not just for GE. It is much more efficient in speeding up drying time compared to our worn-out dryer duct, and the smoothness of the metal makes it much safer than one that catches lint as it passes through. Good buy!

First off, mine did come with the hose clamps stuffed inside of the duct. Other reviewers apparently didn't get them, but I guess I got lucky.If you have some cobbled together junk acting as a dryer duct, this will probably lower your fire risk and probably the humidity in your house since that stuff probably leaks.It says it takes 15-20 minutes to install, but it took more like...2. I just pulled the old stuff off, stuck one side of this on the dryer and the other side on the vent to the outdoors, tightened down the hose clamps and that was that. Granted, both the duct sticking out of the wall and the duct coming out of the back of my dryer stuck out a bit. That makes this kind of thing much easier to install. If you have to go hose to hose or shove this inside of a dryer, it's going to be annoying. I already knew this from installing a few dozen dryers in my time, which is why I refuse to buy a dryer with an inset vent.Thus far, it's working just fine. It's quieter than cobbled together junk in addition to being safer. Since it's all just one piece, there are no leaks as long as the hose clamps are on there right. That also stops lint from ending up all over the place.So, I'm happy with it.
