Tried several carriers before this one, and this one out-did the priciest ones. Great quality materials and construction and the optional side flaps are fantastic for giving you the ability to expand the carrier's size to the full space available to you under your seat.My dog is a corgi-chihuahua mix, about 24lbs and about 17-18" from butt to chest in length. While she fit fine enough facing the carrier door front-to-back, I really appreciated being able to let down both the front panel and one of the side panels in order to maximize her space and comfort once we had actually settled onto the plane. This extra room allowed her to curl up and be a lot more comfortable during the trip, which seemed to help with her travel anxiety.The mesh is also nice and breathable, unlike some other carriers I tried that would heat up too much inside the carrier. One of the sides is also non-mesh, allowing me to position it to block off her view from all the strangers when we had a window seat. The extension floor pads can also be used to easily block both sides if needed.We rode on one of Alaska's medium-sized planes in economy and there was plenty of space for her. I rode on what was probably the smallest Alaska plane on my way there with a different carrier, but the under-seat space seemed fairly similar and I would feel comfortable using this carrier for that one as well.---Tip for use: If you're not planning on putting down both of the side panels, either: (1) use the provided velcro straps located inside the carrier at the top to hold the unused extension floor pads out of the way or (2) fold the extra padding underneath the main padding. Otherwise, it will just fall on top of your pet like a strange stiff blanket and likely make it pretty claustrophobic in there. But once it's velcro'd or folded under this isn't an issue.Second tip for use: If you're traveling with an animal, get a window seat. It's just so much less stress, no moving out of the way for seatmates to use the bathroom, and you can seclude your pet from others by blocking the one side and using the side expansions closest to the window.

This is a great carrier. There are many combinations to give your kitty space. This has made traveling so much easier and more enjoyable for both of us. We don't have a lot of storage and this is super easy to zip together or collapse.

My dog must think she’s traveling VIP status in this. It’s super soft inside and she seems really comfy. Cleopatra is a 16lb MinPin. I was struggling to find something big enough and comfortable enough and this is it!What does she love the most? The fact that it extends! And boy does she take advantage of that. Her last travel bag didn’t and she never had enough room.And we’ve had lots of compliments on this. At the airport, many travelers told me that they would love to bring along their babies, but are worried about them being in the bag. But when they saw this one and how they extended, they immediately said, that is what they needed. Because of how content Cleopatra looked in it.I feel better having her on the airplane and being comfortable now. One of the best purchases I could’ve ever made. Plus, it’s easy to carry and I love the fact that you can strap it onto the top of your suitcase.Added other bonus are the pockets for treats.Highly recommend for all.

Worked well and fit well on the plane.

I have a 2-year-old Corgi (about 25 pounds), and this carrier was a perfect fit for him. I was able to place him under the seat in front of me on the plane. After takeoff, I unzipped the side to give him some space to spread out and see me.All four sides of the carrier can open. However, I advise against leaving the expansions open while carrying the bag, as your pet may rip the mesh or stitching if they put their full weight on one of the expansion slots.The size might be slightly over some airline requirements, but the frame is flexible enough to squish down. As a pro tip, being friendly to airport staff can go a long way in getting on the plane without hassle. We flew with Southwest and had no issues with the bag size on either trip.

This carrier was perfect for my 22 lbs frenchie. He sleep through the whole 3 1/2 hours airplane ride. It may stick out a little from plunder the seat but it’s fine. Love how all sides expand but I didn’t have to use it!

Was very excited about this carrier. It looks and feels strong, the pockets are a plus, my dogs like it.... until we were on the plane, mesh is not strong enough... It may be ok to use for car drives if you need a carrier for that, but not efficient for us, we just needed for flights ... Sad it didn't work out...

I have a mini goldendoodle pup, and she's traveled to North Carolina & Hawaii in this thing.The best part is that it expands on all 4 sides so that your pet can have a little more wiggle room and stretch.It has a couple of pockets where you can store a leash and treats!!And it is airline approved!!

Heute ist die Transportbox angekommen und ich finde es super, dass sie platzsparend zusammenfaltbar, aber auch schnell und stabil wirkend zur Box mit den Reißverschlüssen aufzurichten ist.Wenn man alle Netze ausbreitet ist die Transportbox wirklich geräumig. Im Innenraum gibt es eine weiche, auslaufsichere Auflage und für die ausbreitbaren Netze sind Auflagen mit Klett an der Seite befestigt. Sehr durchdachtes System.Im Flugzeug werde ich zwei der Netze im Fußraum ausspannen können. Im kompakten Format (sprich ohne ausgespannte Netze) ist die Box groß genug für einen 5 kg Bolonka. Für zwei ist sie nur komplett ausgespannt groß genug, weshalb man im Flugzeug zwei Boxen für zwei Hunde braucht. Wenn man das Netz nach vorne ausklappt, können sie sich jedoch sehen und auch ihr Frauchen / Herrchen besser wahrnehmen, was zum entspannteren Flug beitragen wird.

This item is listed as being 19 inches long and 11.4 inches wide by 11.4 inches tall. It isn't.Its 16 inches and 10 x 10. Significantly smaller than advertised, and also did not even come with a carry strap.

The kittens immediately approved it as a new sleeping spot! Took them out to the vet and opening the bag from the top is very handy when you only want to pick out one cat from the bag, assures that nobody escapes. Having it expandable to make more room will surely be practical for longer travels with train and flight. It's also a very good looking bag!
