I know for fact that Prevagen affect the brain. I was taking this daily for a few weeks and I started having hallucinations. I would wake up and see smoke rising but after about ten seconds it would disappear. sometimes the smoke was balc and sometimes white. I even saw stars instead of smoke one time. Stop taking Prevagen made the visions quit. I now use it every 2nd or 3rd day without any problem. Do I think it helps? I was becoming very absent minded and while not completely gone, it has improved. Also, I find that I can concentrate much better for reading and playing video games. I'm 75.

My 101 year old father insisted on taking Prevagen as naturally his mind isn't working like it used to. I told him I didn't feel it would help what is natural aging and I brought it up to his doctor who also felt it wouldn't be a help but Dad insisted on taking it which he has been doing for around 3-4 months. He doesn't seem to have improved any and he says he doesn't feel it's doing anything for him but still insists on taking it as he feels he has to "do something". Granted at 101 soon to be 102 my Dad is an extreme test case. Just have to say while I'm sure it helps some no product I know of will reverse aging and the constant TV advertising which is what lured my Dad into spending his limited social security income on this product isn't a help. He'd see that damn commercial and start insisting he had to get some Prevagen. I finally got tired of the constant demands for it and purchased a bottle for around $40 and with 30 pills in the bottle it barely lasts a month. The store was out of stock so I ordered 2 bottles for him off Amazon as he was upset he couldn't get Prevagen. Then I had to go to 2 stores to get 2 more bottles as he was upset his supply might run out. Sorry, he has been driving me crazy with his insistence on taking Prevagen and I've come to despise hearing the name Prevagen. I'm Asian (Japanese with a little Russian) and the Chinese eat jellyfish so pricey jellyfish protein in pills just doesn't impress me. My Dad's family generally live into their 90's and we have hereditary high cholesterol! My grandmother returned to the city where I live after 30 years and could still find her friend's house in the Chinatown area of the city on her own at age 92. I think our long life is from managing our stress, exercise, appreciating what we have and eating more fresh raw fruits and vegetables, little red meat, and more seafood. I'm sure there nothing wrong with Prevagen in general, but most people would probably do more for themselves by changing their lifestyle and diet choices and managing negative stress.

I noticed improvement within the first month. My very short-term memory is much better, like what I was about to say. It's easier for me to stay focused on a problem or even just on what I'm trying to do. I still take other products for brain support such as ginko biloba, a Life Extension memory supplement with many "proven" ingredients, Omega-3 oils, etc. Since I had been taking various memory supplements for a few years before trying Prevagen, I can know that it made a big difference for me. (Or at least I can be pretty sure of it. :-) The science still sounds a little fuzzy, not like "ginko biloba increases blood flow" or whatever, but I tried it and I'm glad, even though it's kind of pricey.
