Little Genius World Atlas

LOVE IT!
Finally, a world atlas for toddlers. This is the first one we’ve seen that is really age appropriate. Most of them seem to be for older kids, this one has cute art and rhyming text to introduce young kids to the world. It’s silly and informative. Definitely worth it.

Is ok but some info is inaccurate!
Australia is not a continent is called Oceania there is more than just Australia in it. I guess here we devide the Americas, but in the rest of the world is just one continent. There are other small mistakes as to facts, other than that is an ok book. However for "little genius" one would assume they would do better and have 100% accurate facts.

Breaks the world down into each continent.
Perfect. Just as ordered

Not all information is accurate
The media could not be loaded. I reviewed the other books from this series and like them some of the writing and content have not been as polished as what they could be. It's unfortunate because the topics are spot on for what I'm looking for and the concept with the rhyming and fun facts along with the cute illustrations would otherwise make this a brilliant 5 star board book. If you look closely at the pictures of the maps you’ll find numerous inaccuracies in the scale and location of places and animals. For example, in Antarctica crabs are only found on the northern tip, not in the southern part where the crab is drawn, and in Australia the platypus and wombat are drawn on the west coast where they are really only found in eastern and southeastern parts of Australia. For the most part some of these things can be let go seeing that it’s designed for infants and toddlers, so it’s more about the exposure rather than the detail of the content. So, that’s up to the parent in how meticulous they want to be with the accuracy of information their LO takes in. There was also the picture of a fish caught in a net of a trawling boat, which is drawn on 6 different pages throughout the book. I don’t get why you’d want to include a picture like that in a children's book?? Personally, I’m going to place stickers over them to hide them. If these books could be rewritten with more accuracy it would be a definite winner. Unfortunately, I don't recommend these books as a suitable teaching aid for LOs unless, like me, you’re willing to use stickers and labelling tape to cover or change the questionable content in the book.
