Ergonomic and purrfect in every way. A SUPER Duper Pooper Scooper.
The metal poles screw together for a solid fit and provide an additional point of structural rigidity. The scoop itself has square holes that are larger than those on most short-handled scoops with slotted openings. The scoop is also fairly deep. As a result, dry litter sifts through rapidly without the need for back-and-forth shaking, This virtually eliminates airborne dust and dander. It also causes the solids to move quickly to the bottom of the scoop. Most scoops with slit openings sift far more slowly, needing a lot of shaking. That produces more dust. And sometimes solids ride along on top of the litter, eventually falling out before you can scoop it up.Designwise, this scoop gets high marks, THe angle is perfect for scooping the poop, as well as for scraping the sides of the litter box when necessary. As for the length of the pole (handle) being too short (27") for use while standing, I tried it both standing and sitting. I am 5'2" tall. It is perfect for me. Your mileage may vary. If the handle was much longer, it might be unwieldy when you dump the contents into your garbage. I think it is just perfect as designed.

Perfect size for short adults
I used this for shelling on my vacation to Sanibel Island. I'm 5'4" and 55 years old with arthritis. I was worried it would be too short and I would still have to bend. I actually worked out fine. Our condo had beach stuff and I was able to use the next size up. I think it's called mid. I actually did prefer that size. As for the item it's self. It is sturdy yet lightweight and works GREAT. I absolutely love the tool but next trip I may buy the mid size.

Good for Rocks
I use this for picking interesting rocks out of cold, river water.Lightweight. Sturdy. Breaks down so it can fit in my daypack. The only thing I don’t like about this is the tiny handle. I have medium sized hands and can only fit 3 fingers on it. Still works fine for what i need.It would in no way be suitable for a cat litter scoop unless you have teeny, tiny kitties.

Perfect for collecting chicken eggs
This works perfect for getting our chickens eggs out of hard to reach spots. And it’s a total life saver when trying to get eggs out from under a broody chicken. If you know, you know.

Tested on 10 extra large cat boxes!
Tested on 10 extra large cat boxes! With a bad hip there is no way I can keep this up with the standard scoop. Points for a long handle and sturdy contruction. It does not have to have a ski pole handle! Thats a gimmick. I was so hoping that this would telescope to a longer length but it does not. You still end up leaning over a lot when you use this. The scoop, scoops. The scoop is great for tiny poos near the surface. It is not good for the slide, loosen, lift, and sift that needs to be done with big pees, or anything stuck to the side or near the bottom. I've been using this in tandem with the plastic rake from our dog's rake and scoop set because the rake is long and it can get the sides and down below. One issue with scoopers that needs to be addressed is drag. Some have too much drag to sift through the litter, and I hate this. The best scooper I've used is the stainless steel flat spatula style with slots. It glides through the litter and lifts easily. It works great on the bottom, sides and corners. Too bad the handle is short! This scoop has too much drag! It does sift, but it doesnt glide while you are trying to unearth cat poos. I cant really recommend this as the perfect cat box scooper for people with knee or hip problems, or anyone having to do a large quantity of cat box cleaning. Next up for me to try might be a closely tined pitch fork or clam rake... straight up and down, no angled scoop, long handle, and durable... I hope.

Missing hiking stick feature
Works well. Seems sturdy and is definitely helpful picking things up on the beach. I do prefer the another brand I’ve seen because when the scoop part screws off it leaves a hiking pole that you can extend. If I was to order another scoop I would look for the brand that can also be used as hiking stick.
