If you are ok with not having a super plush rug you will be happy!
Ok I literally just opened and placed my rug down. I really wanted to share my review immediately to pay it forward for all those helpful reviews I read to arrive at this purchase.Like most of you, I was looking for a large area rug under $100 that was strong enough to be functional without being hard, super thin or scratchy. Assuming I would probably have to sacrifice a bit on style, I still wanted a rug that blended in with the environment, without looking and feeling cheap or flimsy. I knew that for the for the price point I would have to let go of the idea of having a super plush rug but the other things were deal breakers. I wasn't looking for something to sit and watch TV on, entertain on, or impress anyone with. For me, this rug is meant to be a sort of feet duster around our bed because I absolutely hate getting in bed to feel debris in the sheets. Gross, I know. There may be some out there wondering, "Why I don't just sweep my floor?" Well, I do. I even have an awesome robot vacuum that cleans constantly. But when you have kids and pets on all tile floors, it's just a hard thing to keep perfectly clean. Enter: my need for an area rug under my bed.The rug is as expected! It looks like the picture. Has a really nice balance of earth tones with blue/greys. It is waaaay softer than I expected. To be clear, not the softest but I wasn't expecting that to begin with. I was expecting one of those scratchy, itchy rugs that gets all over your clothes when you sit on it but this is actually soft. It is not thick but it is soft. Even lacking in the thickness I knew I would have to compromise on, it is a far cry from uncomfortable. I could easily sit on this while playing with pets/kids and it would be a huge improvement from the hard, cold (usually a little dirty) tile floor.I also want to address the issue of smell as some reviewers mentioned it smelling bad. It smells fine. Mine smelled like a very subtle cleaner. Not strong at all. I literally put my face against the rug and took a big whiff to even smell that. While the rug's design is nothing like I originally had in mind, I couldn't resist giving this a try since the next option I had in mind was more than double the price of this rug. The question for me was, "Will the savings be worth the compromise in style/thickness or will I ultimately have wasted the money and end up just buying both because I'm dissatisfied?" Compromise worth it! I am unequivocally happy. I am so glad I spent less half the money and still have a rug that is both practical and blends well with it's environment. Bonus that it's actual soft and not paper thin!!The rug was folded in half and then rolled around a heft cardboard tube. This means that the ends actually laid flat right out of the packaging! That never happens -- especially with thinner rugs! Bonus - if you have kids, they will entertained for hours by the giant tube. Another bonus, when I feel the rug has ran it's course as an indoor rug, it will be a great fit on my patio.Bottom line - if you are ok with a neutral design, not having the thickest rug but are just needing something soft to have over your existing floors I believe you will be pleased with this. If you are expecting a plush $400 rug you will not be happy. The makers of this rug went through a lot of trouble to add value so that it feels worth both the cost and the compromises.

Completely Unexpected Design
So I read the many reviews talking about how the rug varied in colors, and I actually mentally prepared for that. I figured it wouldn't be bad if I got some browns instead of grey, or even if the stripes were the wrong way like everyone said. I thought I fully prepared myself for variation and embraced it, and the description does say "random earth-tone stripes."However, I got a SOLID BLACK rug with no stripes, just weird circles. I don't have time or money to ship this back, and I'm a college student with classes and a million things on my mind. I'm going to keep it for this reason and because in every other aspect (size, pile, etc) it's fine. I would urge this company to either read the reviews and stop sending incorrect items, or at least change the color description.

I cannot tell you how amazed I was at this rug
H O N E S T L Y!!!! Y'all. If you are looking for the most dependable rug in the entire existence of rugs, let me just tell you that this is it. My dorm floor literally flooded while I was away at the grocery store. Two inches of water. TWO FULL INCHES on the entire floor, EXCEPT FOR MY DORM WHICH IS LITERALLY LOCATED NEXT TO THE BATHROOM. And why, you may ask was my dorm not underwater? Because of this magical, absorbent rug that was sent from Jesus himself. I cannot tell you how amazed I was at this rug, it saved apple laptops, coach bags and so many shoes. Do yourself or your college aged kid a favor, and buy this rug. You will NOT regret it.

Its a steal and totally worth it.
We've had this rug over a year and a half and realized we never wrote a review! This rug has survived one move, two cats, one puppy, two twenty something's and a lot of spilled coffee like a champ. We were fortunate to wind up with more tan than green in our rug, and it's a nice neutral. We got the 7x12'. The rubber backing is extremely sturdy and never moves around. We've spilled a lot of coffee on this rug and somehow it never stains, so we've concluded it's got some kind of magic. None of the ends are frayed and it's weaved incredibly tight so theres no shagging anywhere, incredibly amazing with all the animal claws that have been on it and scratched at it.. We had the rug on tile in our previous place and it definitely broke the fall of a few dropped items despite not being particularly thick. Easy to vacuum and easy to clean. I say buy it.

What are you even waiting for?
Look, if you're looking at this rug, and reading this review, then you're in the same spot I was before getting it. You've been looking at big, cheap rugs. I have a somewhat large top landing in my house and I needed a big, cheap rug to cover it. The bigger, and cheaper, the better. I have kids and a dog, so I didn't want fancy. This rug does that and more - the quality, while not plush or fancy, is surprisingly good. My rugs' stripes ran horizontally, as shown in the picture, and like I said, this thing is huge, and I'm almost certain the price point CANNOT be beaten. You want plain, big, cheap, and pretty darn good quality? This rug delivers.

A steal!! 5 stars! Bravo!
I bought this rug on a whim wanting a plain tan colored rug kinda. When i looked at the reviews i saw many mixed reviews. I needed something 7ft by 12ft. I was worried there would be blues, green, and red in this "earth tone" rug. The manufacturer said there normally isnt blues reds and greens in the earth tone option so i went on a whim and ordered it! Its a steal for the size!! Its very pretty, and plain enough for my style. A lot of people said the rug wasnt soft but it certainly isnt rough. I did buy a rug from home depot that was $180 and it is much softer and more plush but this one isnt bad, i can certainly lay on it naked if i so please, rug burn is possible on it though. Its not squishy plush on your feet like luxury rugs but its simple, inexpensive, pretty and soft to walk on. This is a lightweight rug, its thin so yes it will have some creases, it will take some weight and time to fully lay on the floor flush, although ours seemed to be rolled very well unlike some other people complained about. Id totally purchase this rug again. You cant beat the price! For a 7 by 12 rug, this is easily over $100 less than other sellers
