After getting its start under a different name in 1997, Grendel, (named after a character in 'Beowulf') has developed a massive following in the Electro-Industrial scene. Renowned for the unorthodox and original use of orchestration, obscure samples incorporated with harsh and pounding EBM structures, Grendel, (and its mastermind VLRK) has perfected a unique spin on Aggrotech, and his previous releases, such as 2002's End of Ages EP, 2003's Prescription:Medicide, Soilbleed EP, and 2007's Harsh Generation all stand as scene favorites and still dominate dance floors worldwide. In 2009, the Chemicals + Circuitry EP was written & recorded and was a slight diversion from the band's familiar sound; this EP found Grendel exploring different sounds and styles. After three long years of silence, Grendel emerges from the studio offering up the all new album Timewave : Zero. With this new release, Grendel both returns to its signature sound, and pushes aggrotech further into new territories, continuing the bands tradition of delivering cutting edge Harsh EBM! Be part of the harsh generation and live by the bassline. Review: Show's versatility. - This is a great album and actually pretty beautiful. I loved Grendel's previous album Harsh Generation which is loaded with pretty awesome and angry tracks such as "Hate This" and "Harsh Generation" also, "Solibeed". Now, this one, is pretty interesting it's a mix of Trance and EBM. They even remade Chemicals and Circuitry which I enjoyed the first time but v.2012 is really good. I think my favorite song on here is Wheels in Motion. Another great hard hitting track is the Song album titled ,"Timewave Zero" "Neon City Lights" Is also interesting. "Deep Waters" Is much like a Trance Dance song it's certainly not typical Grendel and then there's "Conflict Instigation" which sounds very much like a traditional Grendel song it's very much EBM. Overall, the album is quite different and worth owning. Review: Great Album ! - I start listening to their music on YouTube and decided to purchase this album. I glad I did ! I enjoy their music a great deal. My favorite tracks are pretty much the whole album. My absolute favorite tracks are - Rise, Conflict Instigation, Timewave Zero, Wheels in Motion and Deep Waters. I'm still not sure about Chemicals and Circuitry. I've probably listened to Deep Waters at least 25 times on YouTube, but I like music with female singers. I purchased the MP3 Limited Edition with the remixes and I am extremely happy I spent the extra money. I enjoy the remixes.

Absolutely amazing!
I have appreciated Grendel for quite some time. I seldom keep up to date with new releases, and only knew their first couple of cds from 'way back when'. i listened once before throwing them on the shuffle pile. Today, weeks after the first listening, i truly heard them for the first time. Still pure grendel, they have evolved as a band, embracing more dept and intricate yet subtle complexities. Grendel defines itself with Timewave, and, at least for me, has been established as one the bands which will remain

Exactly As Expected
Exactly what I've come to expect from Grendel, a combination of sounds and singers, deep meanings, and the perfect blend of styles to crank in the car.

Great aggrotech with cyberpunk themes
Grendel is one of the few bands that perfectly blends fast dance-able industrial music with cyberpunk aesthetics, and Timewave : Zero is a solid entry in their catalog. Definitely pick up this album.
