Lovely Aran and Fair Isle Patterns for Babies and Toddlers
If you have a toddler or baby that you want to knit an aran or Fair Isle sweater for, this is THE book. There are lovely patterns for boys and girls, usually sized from 6 months to 4 years old. The book features cardigans, pullovers, a blanket, vests, gloves, mittens, hats and Fair Isle patterns. There is not a bad pattern in the lot. All of them are ones I'd love to knit and plan to pick some out and do so to put in my hope chest. I like the clarity of the patterns and the color photographs. I highly recommend this book.

Adorable!
I'll be honest, I haven't tried to make any of the patterns from this book yet. I look through it while we're nursing and fantasize about the sweaters I'll make this summer, for my girl to wear next winter. Hopefully making the sweaters will bring me as much pleasure as looking at the pictures of them!

the most beautiful sweaters
This book has patterns for the most beautiful sweaters. I'm going to find one with similar patterns so I can make some for adults, too!

PRETTY, PRETTY BUT NOT SO MUCH.
I love the designs in this book. I don't love the directions, however. Much better to fill the wide, wide page borders with more complete directions. I'm a fairly experienced knitter and totally fearless about striking out on my own when knitting, but the "Alexa Poncho" I made for my grandadughter Alexa left me occasionally bum-fuzzled. I would not recommend this one to inexperienced knitters under any circumstances, it just assumes too much knowledge.

Little Aran & Celtic Knits
I haven't used this book yet but know I will. I like the photos and the patterns look well within my knitting abilities.I have shown it to a very good friend and she too likes it.

Buyer Beware
There are very few of what I think of as classic Aran knit sweaters in this book. A lot of color work sweaters, socks, mittens etc. If you were expecting a lot of what is pictured on the cover look elsewhere. The colorwork "argyle/argyll" type sweaters and others are nice though. Just sayin.

This is a beautiful book. I bought it in addition to Martin Storeys Aran and Nordic Knits as they were advertised as often bought together. Oh dear, except for the cover and price the two books are identical. Please buy one or the other as the books are full of gorgeous patterns, but do not make my mistake of buying both.

Not the most up to date book
The cover suggested that the book contained modern patterns for the experienced knitter. Apart from the cover design I doubt I will knit anything else in the book. I love Martin Storey designs but this book is outdated.

Five Stars
An excellent book but I would like some of the patterns such as the front cover one would expect the sizing to go up to age 5 and 6
