Cheap materials for the price...
It's not a big deal to me that the wood for these foundations isn't finished, etc. - that will be true for all foundations and box springs. That said, one of the major support pieces for our ghostbed foundation did have a sizable crack. Not a big enough concern for me to return it, but a bit lame for a new product. The "predrilled" holes were inconsistent - sometimes not present, sometimes not in the appropriate place. DO DRILL NEW HOLES with a small bit if necessary - the wood has a high likelihood of cracking if you don't.The cover is just meh. It does not cover the bottom of the foundation (so if you have a cat, he's got a new playhouse). Also, the sides of the foundation are "open", which means the cover feels baggy and cheap in these areas.Ultimately, if this came put together, I could see paying $200 for it. But as is, with its mediocre quality, I would say this is worth more like $100-125. There are other foundations on Amazon for around that price - the issue for us was the spacing of the slats for a memory foam mattress.Putting it together really isn't that hard, but a drill (power screwdriver) is a must.

GhostBed, an apt name for a company with scary and invisible quality control
I was prepared by the reviews for less-than-perfect wood. I wasn't worried until upon receipt the "READ THIS FIRST" letter included talks a LOT about how the problems you're about to see aren't that big of a deal. Maybe just throw some wood glue on (though if you know shipping your product is going to terrorize it, maybe include the wood glue?)So with that ominous warning I started unpacking the pieces a bit more. Yeah. Good thing that note is there. These things are rough. The main supports were warped to the point that I was concerned it wouldn't assemble correctly. Boards came cracked and some cracked more upon screwing.Their "quality assurance" note was checked off despite some issues that clearly existed before shipping: several pre-drilled holes were either missing or so close to the edge of the wood they were not usable. This didn't happen because the wood had a long journey. This is poor construction and absent quality control. (Thinking over this, I just dropped my rating from 3 to 2 stars.)YOU WILL NEED A POWER SCREW DRIVER. Even IF the screw holes are all present on yours, you will not want to do it all by hand. And if they're missing... well. The fact that the quality control clearly is a lie makes me think the warped and damaged wood is not from shipping. Come to think of it, if a big chunk of wood is splintered off, and it happened during shipping... I'd have found that splice of wood in the box. So, yeah, they just ship out damaged wood too.The assembly isn't hard (provided you have a drill or similar power driver), but it does strike me as easy to assemble slightly off kilter and you could end up with a frame a bit wider or narrower than expected. Even with care you'll probably be a little nervous, though at the end of the day mine ended up OK.All told I was pretty underwhelmed by the quality for the cost. If you can, I'd avoid this foundation. There is a similar "boxed" foundation that Ikea sells for the same price and -- how odd it is to say this -- it is much better quality construction. (Only compared the King sized ESPEVÄR pricing but I believe the others are comparably competitive). As a bit of a nerd who has tried a lot of the 'mattress in a box' (Tuft and Needle, Casper, Leesa, etc) the quality of construction here makes me dubious of the brand. I would not buy a GhostBed mattress if the quality control and pride of construction is as low as this foundation.

Overpriced junk! Looks nothing like the advertisement
King foundation is made from cheap white wood not “spruce” as stated on the website. It came with splits and cracks all over, one of the slats is stapled to the cloth shifted to one side and all the spacing is around 3” causing there to be a gap in the center of the bed that appears to need another board. However, upon inspecting the instructions there seems to be the same number of boards, so I’m assuming it’s my job to pull every stable out of the fabric and make necessary changes. And I paid $300 for this crap?!?! Oh how about the elephant in the room... has anyone looked at the corners of the foundation and then looked at the advertisement????? Why is there a beefy corner brace with wingnuts in the advertisement, yet this cheaply made frame doesn’t have that. And America wonders why we keep outsourcing to other countries. I’m more than annoyed and frustrated with this. I am a woodworker and even wanted to build this myself, but with a baby on the way and moving into our new house I ordered this to work with our new bed frame, and now I’m stuck either trying to repair a $300 Piece of junk or hopefully get a solid replacement from the company. I already left a voicemail and will be following up in the morning. Needless to say, this is the last product I buy from this company and I will never recommend them to anyone because of the lack of quality and transparency. Absolutely disgusting and deceiving.

Poor, poor customer service
Ordered this through Amazon. Had to order a replacement because the first one came unusable. The cross members were split in multiple locations. It is likely the manufacturer did not pre-drill through the cheap pine they used to build it. The second came and was also split. At least this time it was fixable. Had to fix a 200 dollar boxspring that I had to put together. Tried to contact GhostBed and they basically stated it wasn't there problem because I ordered through Amazon. Poor, poor customer service. I usually do my best to support products made in America and companies that support our military, but I think I may have to pass on ordering from them again. It's unfortunate.

This bed is not screwed together. It is very poorly stapled together.
In the video at 2:20, they claim that the bed is "stronger than a store bought one because it has been assembled with screws". This is not true, as it is 100% stapled together, and very poorly. The only screws that you get to add are to hold the very top slats down. There was lots of broken wood on the one I received, always right where they cheaply stapled it together. I don't know how broken wood with floating staples is expected to "not squeak." This is not a USA quality product at all. We get much finer products out of China and Mexico. If you buy this product, plan on pulling a bunch of staples so you can assemble it properly so everything "lines up" and so it will be the product you were hoping for.

Ghostbed foundation worth it!
I replaced a metal frame with this wooden one a couple month ago. The metal one I bought from amazon too, but creaked all night ! This wood one is lower, and silent! I would never switch back!

Don’t bother with this garbage!
Almost 3 weeks for delivery and the product is poor quality. Bought a better equivalent from Ikea and will now try to return this garbage.
