On the mix I use says it's good for up to 2-3 days. I just mix a little more milk in when I take it out of fridge to thin it out a little, doesn't affect flavor at all. Maybe 2-3 table spoons needed that's all!

Will this work with muffin or cupcake batter?

Yes. The opening is big so you can even do a batter that has chocolate chips or blueberries. I used it for pancakes and for filling muffin mix into donut molds on the same night and I'm satisfied.

Will it drip if held upside down or does it need pressure to squeeze out?

Without the cap it comes with you cannot hold it upside down or the batter comes out. Squeezing the bottle helps to get more batter out. I wanted to give a newer answer to this questions so that newer buyers like me are not thinking this is like a squeeze bottle you can draw shapes with.

Can you put this in the freezer to store unused batter?

Waiting for mine to arrive, but I would be careful about placing it in the freezer. Make sure you allow for expansion. Liquid that freezes expands in size and could crack the bottle.
