Update: They replaced Flash GUI with HTML5 and their Support is Awesome!
Review Update: So I misjudged this camera and the company that made it, ADATA. When I first started with NDI PTZ cameras like the x20, I admit that I was still fresh to some of the concepts of network streaming devices and they have released an updated GUI that's based on HTML5. I regret leaving my last bad review, once I put in the effort of upgrading the firmware I now have the camera that made me feel like I got what I paid for. I'm glad I called them and I'll be a returning customer! Here's the thing for those on the fence: It turns out this company is not only American based but their tech support is as well! When I called the number listed on their website, I got a quick simple menu, a couple of rings and a REAL PERSON who clearly lived in California (that Cali accent!) repeatedly answered my multiple calls for help, and I never felt once like they weren't going get my problem solved. And what's worse is that, as an IT guy, the actual fix for getting the latest HTML5 version of the web GUI installed was fairly straightforward:If the camera you've bought has firmware v844 installed on it you need to retrieve the camera physically, toggle dip switches 1+2 to the off position, plug in their provided "DB9 mini" cable into a trusted USB->Serial adapter, then follow the PDF instructions for how to push the v904 updates. After you've installed the 904 update you won't be asked to take the camera down again, the future updates are all done from the webgui. Also note that Linux users or Mac user's can't update the firmware for some reason (I'm guessing UTF-8 encoding?) but if you just use a Windows Virtual Machine like I did it'll work fine.I wasn't paid for my review, the support I got was worth something to me and I felt they earned this review. The fact that the dude on the phone didn't even bother asking for serial numbers or purchase dates when I asked for help meant a lot to me as it was clear he was more worried about providing support than nit-picking warranty periods.
