Great water toy
My grandson's love this torpedo! It really does go quickly through the water. It is a heavy object and you would think it was going to sink instead of 'fly' through the water, but it performed exactly as described.

Best Pool Torpedo, hands down
I bought a couple pool torpedos for use in my neighborhood pool, and this is the only one that performed as advertised. I was trying to find the closest item to the toypedo that I used as a kid in the 90s. I bought the shark-shaped “torpedo” from Dicks Sporting goods, and that thing was absolute trash. It wasn’t a solid piece, and the fins on it made it fly terribly through the water. It would basically instantly surface after a throw and then immediately nose dive to the bottom. It went maybe 6ft, and was advertised at 30-ish Ft. I also tried the mini torpedos from Amazon, but those just didn’t have the heft of the original toypedo. This UTL torpedo is solid rubber and is the closest thing to the original toypedo that I could find for a reasonable price. The original toypedos can be found on eBay for like $200 as of this writing. The UTL torpedo flies easily 10-15ft with minimal athleticism involved. I haven’t measured the max distance that I’ve thrown it, but I would estimate it at 25-30ft. It needs to be thrown kind of like throwing a football spiral. The only con with this torpedo is that it is designed for right-handers. The fins force the torpedo to spin in a single direction. If you try to throw it like a football with your left hand, it will begin its rotation in that direction, stall while in flight, then switch its rotation. It was weird seeing that the first time. Lefties can still underhand throw this torpedo to some distance though. With all of that said, every person that has played with this torpedo has had a lot of fun, lefties and righties alike. We usually just play catch with it, but it’s also good for some monkey-in-the-middle. I would highly recommend this for adults and children to add a different level of fun to their swimming activities.PROSSimilar to 90s toypedoSolid rubber, very durableFlies the greatest distance underwater compared to other torpedos on the marketCheaper than buying a 90s toypedo from eBayCONSStill it’s $40. Worth the price to meNot optimized for left-handed peopleDoes not go the advertised 40ft in a 3-5ft deep pool. Still travels a good distance though.

Great for motivating young swimmers!
This has made learning to swim so much more fun! This was a birthday present for my son and really motivated him to go underwater and practice swimming! Such a fun water toy!

Great quality!
This torpedo is amazing. It can glide the entire length of our pool without dropping to the bottom. Hours of fun and I bet it will last for years to come. 🤩

Spins in the water
This pool toy is a lot of fun. The only con is that the paint starts to come off after multiple times in the pool.

Best pool toy!
This is the best pool toy we have ever gotten. We never go to the pool without it. Of course there’s going to be where in tear but, it performs outstandingly. If you can throw it just right it will go the entire distance of almost any pool. My family and I love to dive for it when we are in the pool.

It's a water torpedo
I loved playing with this kind of toy growing up. I also used this when I went to scuba school and threw this around under the water at 20 feet down. I think that is the best case use for this, but I'm sure you can find an underwater game to play with it with other people.

Great torpedo
We had been looking for the larger torpedo for a while. It seems like you can only find the small ones. This one is perfect! It was more expensive than it should be but my son loves it!
