This book is a fantastic support for my work in the classroom and increased my awareness of how to leverage informational texts to develop the craft of writing for elementary school students. Project based learning is a phenomenal way to to teach literacy across content areas. Nell Duke's book is full of excellent information, and thought provoking ideas for all teachers. I highly recommend it.

Inside Information is an invaluable resource for teachers looking to implement project based learning in conjunction with informational reading and writing. This book is especially relevant given the intensified focus on informational text in the CCSS. Duke provides clear steps that teachers can take to teach informational writing that is purposeful and authentic as well as a myriad of examples to draw from.

This book has been incredibly valuable as I step into project-based, authentic learning and teaching with students. It is a wonderful guide book that is backed by research and written for the current and aspiring teacher. It has a step-by-step, easy to follow approach that encourages you to dive into the book. Informational texts have never been so exciting in my classroom!

This is a very helpful resource when creating a writing unit plan. If you haven't used project based instruction before, this will give you the step-by-step approach you can implement in your classroom. Nell Duke is highly regarded and this is a book you can use over and over.
