NewTek TalkShow - Studio-Grade Skype TX Hardware

Had it for more that two years now and after the most recent updates this is the most useless and poorly designed product in my studio. Don't even think about this one and that is coming from a big NewTek fan and owner of several other NewTek products. Come on NewTek you can do better than this.

Save Your money ! I have been using Mac Mini's with Blackmagic Thunderbolt Recorder and Monitor for 2 years before this came out but a client insisted on using it for a gig. What a disaster. For starters audio outs lagged going to a disk recorder and using IVGA for Tricaster connection really lags it also is a bandwidth hog causing me to drop some frames . I have had both HDMI and SDI Ins and outs on the Mac Mini for years this I guess allows something with a PC feel to be similar all be it at a 2500.00 premium. The picture quality was no better than the BMD Mac Mini Combo but the ability to set screens etc definitely sucked on the Talkshow since they are fixed positioned and the Mac allows complete freedom of where you want your screen using the control panel function and multi monitor HDMI or SDI out even duplicating screens for producers etc to see.One Other Big Issue! You so far are tied to Skype with Talkshow and The Mac Mini Combo allows Google Hang Outs You tube Etc all to be broadcasted up to 4K with the right card combos since it basically takes anything program wise and spits it out in progressive or interlaced formats
