Grumpy Bird

My son is 6 almost 7. He has some behavioral problems and we randomly came across the Hungry Bird book at the grocery store in a bargain bin and so started the Bird book obsession! These books are adorable. Bird is quite the character and I enjoy reading all 4 of the Bird books(at least 1 a night if not ALL 4). (Grumpy, Hungry, Sleepy and Boohoo (Bird)). Good little lessons in each book and end very clever. The illustrations are super cute!

We've had this Grumpy Bird book for 7 years now! 7 years and four kids! We had the paperback that entire time and it's been read so many times that we needed the hardcover copy. Its the best book, especially for little kids who are a little grumpy and need something to turn their frown upside down. This book is sweet and shows how patience and friendship can help anyone improve their day.

My daughter one day started throwing tantrums when we couldn't understand her and/or she didn't get her way. She'd sulk in a corner and tell us she was angry. I searched amazon for some age-appropriate books to talk about feelings with her - this book is fantastic, she loves the pictures and the story is perfect for her age. The bird wakes up grumpy and eventually the other animals help him forget. Simple, to the point, perfect.

My toddler loves this book so much, however as the parent that has to read it, I can say it ends very strangely, but hey its a kids book.

A really excellent book. Bought it for my boy when he was 4 and 2 years later he still loves this. Perfect tool to draw him out of those random grumpy moods he gets into sometimes. We use a unique silly voices for each of the animal characters, which my son just loves. The illustrations are also gorgeous...definitely not like what you would see in your average kids book. Final bonus...this book, and the equally good boo hoo bird, are available in French.

My baby loves when I used different voices for the different characters in this book and the grump tone for the grumpy bird. Cute read.

my 2 year old son loves this book. As grumpy bird cheers up, he starts to smile too and by the end has a big smile on his face. It's also a fun book for me to read to him because I get to use different voices for the different animals grumpy bird passes by.

Very funny book and my daughter (2 year old) enjoys the story..highly recommend..she enacts the grumpy bird.. she forgets all about grumpy when she reads it..

This is a lovely book. Being a fan of modern and street art I was obviously attracted to the book as it looked a bit radical and different to many pre-school books. My daughter was only around a year old at the time and she instantly loved it. Seven months later and she still adores it - she points and the illustrations as well as joining in with the words. Happy daughter - and a happy dad.

I love this book and have bought it so many times for a gift. Fun to read, cute story about friendship and how it is ok to feel grumpy sometimes.

Great read for two year old

My kids LOVE this book. When they are misbehaving I ask if they are being "Grumpy Birds". We like to act out part of the book - gets them involved and they like it too.
