A Slow Start to an Interesting New Series
I used Whispersync to both read this book and listen to it on Audible, which colours my review. It took me a while to warm to this book and I think it might have been to do with the narrators. I just didn’t warm to them, sadly. They did a good job and their accents and character differences were good, but there was some quality to their voices that just didn’t quite click for me.The book is about Gray, a witch in hiding. She lives on the fringes of the supernatural world without being engaged in it. She suppresses her desire to do magic after witnessing a loved one die at the hands of Hunters. She knows that Hunters will do anything in their power to kill all witches, so her only chance of avoiding death is by not performing magic and pretending to be purely human.Gray lives with her best friend Sophie, who is also a witch who doesn’t practice, or a least that’s what Gray thinks, until Sophie reveals that she is thinking about joining the local coven. This is the start of Gray contemplating the role of magic in her life once more. Her other best friend Ronan is a demon, who has been Gray’s protector for as long as she has been in Blackmoon Bay. As she starts along a difficult path, Ronan tries his best to protect her once more, helped by his friends; Darius, a vampire, Emilio a werewolf and police detective and reluctantly by Asher another demon. When Death himself shows up to help, Gray has no idea how her life has changed so drastically in such a short space of time, and doesn’t know what to do about her complicated relationship with magic. This Reverse Harem has a slow start as characters, histories and world building is established, but it is an interesting slow start. Things happen and the build of tempo is gradual but insistent, pulling the reader on to find out what happens next. It’s not a determined yank on the reader, but it is a gentle tug and that is what kept me reading. I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series, but I’ll probably just buy the Kindle version, because despite the slow start, I really want to know what happens to Gray and her supernatural men.

A Reverse Harem Done Right!
I loved the plot to this book, and the steamy romance that ensues. The only reason this doesn't get a five star from me is because it needs a proofread. The ebook copy I bought has a few errors, including some backwards quotation marks. If I received this as a paperback, I probably would have been a little more disappointed by it, but since I only spent ÂŁ3.50 on the ebook, it's not too much of a problem. Also, it's all minor stuff, it doesn't interrupt the flow of reading, and is only occasional. My other issue is that this book is a little misleading in its titled genre. It's not a paranormal romance, it's a reverse harem paranormal fantasy, perhaps urban fantasy. A paranormal romance is something where the romance is the plot, but the actual plot to this has nothing to do with the reverse harem romance going on (well, it's a little linked). So I personally believe a change in genre would be more beneficial to the book. This was my first step into reverse harem romance, and I loved it. Not usually a lover a erotic scenes, but gave it a go anyway, and was pleasantly surprised at how well the author handles the erotic scenes in this book. They're tasteful, well-written, and she does not create a love pentagon at all. I'm on the second book now and am happy with the consensualism presented in this book. I often get frustrated at the romanticising of cheating and affairs in romance stories that seem to have peppered the market, but this is not one of those. And that is amazing and refreshing to read.Cannot wait to continue reading the series to find out more!

Witches & Demons
I absolutely adore this book. It drew me in from the very beginning.Grey is a very intriguing MC, suppressing her magic and getting by in the human world to hide herself isn't something I've read as an RH before, nut Piper does it brilliantly. I love the mix of supernaturals that make Greys harem. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with them all already. The plot is captivating and will leave you needing more! I'm dying to know what will happen next in such a very promising series!

Very good
Great start to Grey and her men. I really like where this story is going. It's a Mid-burn reverse harem, the relationships between Grey and the guys all happen naturally and there are a few sexy moments. Looking forward to the next book.

Just perfect
Just giving me everything to live vicariously through. The supernatural. The sex. The men ready to do anything for the female. Perfect. I mean a bit more ethnic diversity wouldn’t go amiss but other than that. Perfect.
