Very Happy With It
We upgraded our fire pit from wood to propane. This burner seemed to be what we need, so I ordered it. So far, I am very happy with it.I wanted to upgrade my fire pit at minimum cost. A gas burner needs a pan, and I was happy that this 24” burner fits perfectly in a cheap 24” aluminum water heater pan available from big box home improvement stores for around $25. No need to buy an expensive fire pit pan. Bore a hole in the center for the gas inlet- and you’re good to go. I put the pan/ burner assembly on a piece of $10 Durock concrete board, covered everything with lava rocks, and was done.I connected the burner to a standard 20# propane tank with a 20 ft 1/2” gas line buried in conduit, and connected to an air mixer valve, a pressure regulator, and a key valve.....all bought from Amazon. When lit, this burner will put out a flame that is over 2 ft high at full pressure. When dialed back, it is a nice constant 8” or so. Perfect. As others have noted, the burner does whistle a bit a high pressure, but when dialed down it is very quiet. So, solid unit that works at a good price. No complaints.

The Round 18" is not a 3/4" gas inlet, its 1/2"
The PHOTO of the product (18" version) has a text overlay that says "3/4 gas inlet". The PRODUCT DESCRIPTION says "1/2" center Female Gas Inlet". The product description is correct, the photo is wrong, the gas inlet is 1/2". Unfortunately I only saw the bit on the photo, and so I bought the wrong size pipe. Other than that the product is great, good flame, good construction, seems durable. But please fix the photo.

Buy this fire ring!
I wanted to go BIG with my new gas fire pit. This ring replaced a much smaller, big box store unit. As soon as I opened the box I chuckled like a giddy school girl. The unit is built VERY well and the 36" size was perfect for my 4'x4' square pit. I straight piped this thing like it was a 67 Camaro and didn't use any flex line at all. There is ZERO whistle. Due to the amount of gas coming out of this monster though you do here a bit of sound but it isn't a whistle and it isn't annoying. It puts off some good heat as well. My goal was to build myself a custom pit and this thing finished off beyond what I had imagined. Also, the pictures... one was taken before I had finished filling it with lave rock. The second was after final completion and a test run.

Another earth shattering review....!
I made my own propane firepit...to save some money...and to see if I could....Size was most important feature...cost was also a factor....Installation was simple but I am pretty handy......My advice is, if you are wondering whether you can install this by yourself...you probably shouldn't try. I'm not sure it would be possible to rig up a self starter...you're going to have to match light it...If that scares you...buy a completed unit. You're getting exactly what it says...Again...if you need directions, don't try this. Good Luck! You're going to need fire glass of some kind. Just remember...you're playing with fire...Don't burn your house down or blow up a propane tank....to save a couple bucks.
