From what ive looked up the main power can be split one running to highs amp other running to capacitor to the sub?

That is correct. You can also have separate splitters for the sub and the 4+ channel amp. Being that it is DC it constantly runs through the "hot" positive wire. I only needed an amp for my subwoofer, so I used the splitter as almost a "secondary battery source" with the wire from the battery to the splitter branching to the subwoofer and the capacitor seperately

How many volts can this thing take. I need a 480v line split up.

This is designed for 12 volt use.

What material is it made from? Copper?

I would assume CCA I guess it could be tinned copper but I doubt it..
