Review: Versatile low carb tool - I Just received my chaffee/waffle maker yesterday and couldn’t wait to try making low carb “chaffle buns” for our sandwiches. ~. The initial cleaning is of course not enjoyable, but got through that. In heating it up I noticed that the red/green button was hard to tell if it was ready or not. I just guessed and gave it about 10 min. I tried to oil with a brush, but realized later that doing that just made a mess. Next time, if I lay down cheese first, I’ll know I can rely on the oil in the cheese to keep it from sticking or just use a lot less oil. ~ The chaffles came out easily after peeking a couple times. They appeared to cook evenly, (this depends upon how much filling you use too. ~ Clean up again wasn’t fun, and I tried different tools/methods to clean each waffle well. Finally used a a small round palm brush dipped in dish water and shook out the water. I scrubbed in a circle in each well and wiped up the soap with damp papertowel and used a damp clean dishcloth to clean each crevice (rinsed the cloth often). I don’t think I’ll need to clean this deeply each time I use as the cooked bits come out pretty cleanly. (I’m thinking how cast iron pans work). As far as the Chaffle? I Just received my chaffee/waffle maker yesterday and couldn’t wait to try making low carb “chaffle buns” for our sandwiches. ~. The initial cleaning is of course not enjoyable, but got through that. In heating it up I noticed that the red/green button was hard to tell if it was ready or not. I just guessed and gave it about 10 min. I tried to oil with a brush, but realized later that doing that just made a mess. Next time, if I lay down cheese first, I’ll know I can rely on the oil in the cheese to keep it from sticking or just use a lot less oil. ~ The chaffles came out easily after peeking a couple times.
