Transfer Bench with Padded Cut-Out and Handle Size: Regular

I purchased for my elderly father in law who lives with us. He has a problem with his equilibrium. This transfer bench makes it possible for him to bath safely. Works well, was easy to assemble and is well made. Good piece of equipment

The only thing I would change about this chair would be to make it swivel. I could not find a swivel one that was padded. My mom uses this as she has had a stroke. Padding is so important for the elderly population. They lose muscle and their posterior parts get sore on hard surfaces. I would buy this again as it works well in the shower even though it does not swivel.

I purchased this bench for my husband, who is 6'5" tall, because this bench has the highest possible seat height of all I reviewed, at 24". My husband is thrilled. It came unassembled, but just snaps together with ease, without tools. It does make a difference, however, which rail is in the front or back, so be sure to read the instructions about that detail.The bench is sturdy, even with the seat at the highest level. The feet are rubber, and angled to fit the rounded edges of the tub, yet they grip firmly on the floor as well. The legs are adjustable in small (half-inch?) increments, making it easy to find the perfect fit for the inside and outside of the tub.The seat is extremely soft and comfortable, and there are no hard or sharp edges on the cut-out -- perfect for tender or fragile skin. It glides easily, but not out of control, and stops firmly as it locks into position at either end of the bench. Then with a push of the red button, it's free to glide again.Our shower aide is tickled pink with this bench, and said she wishes all her clients had this model. She thinks SHE is the spoiled one, because it makes her job so much easier!

If you look at the picture, you will see that there are four plastice slides that the seat rides on. The slides are brittle. One of the locking slides on our bench broke for no apparent reason. Even though the bench was still under warranty, we have received no help. Neither the manufacturer, the seller, or Amazon cares. Even if the slide had been replaced, it would surely have broken again and we would be stuck with an expensive piece of junk that isn't that easy to dispose of. The much cheaper seats and benches by other manufacturers are a much better purchase.

Easy to assemble. Very sturdy. I use it in a shower stall. Have to leave the door open and the bench projects into the bathroom, but it meets my expectations.

Works great and slides easily. It was very easy to assemble and the seat can fit on either side depending on your shower set up.
