Finally a book with main characters with special needs.
My special needs class loved this book. Finally a book that has characters with similar disabilities as our classroom population.

Great books for Elementary/Middle Schoool students!
My middle school students with severe disabilities LOVED this book! They were so excited to read a book about a hero just like themselves. The Romeo Riley series is not only great reading for students with disabilities, but for the gen. ed. population as well. Romeo can help kids in general education to lose their fear of students with disabilities and see them for the unique individuals that they are who are really no different from themselves, despite the use of a wheelchair or a talking device. Please see my review of the series listed under the title of the next book: Private Eye, Romeo Riley The Series: The Case of the Crooked Campaign

Romeo Riley: I am addicted, cannot wait for your next book.
Romeo Riley, I love you. This wide-eyed young man has me addicted. I am a grandmother and could not put this book down until I read every last page to find out how Romeo would and could solve the mystery. This book is absolutely excellent reading for all ages, as I bought this book for my grandchildren and one for myself. As I love reading, I lose attention, time and patience reading novels. The author has a natural for writing and keeping you interested, as she describes the predicements Romeo gets himself in to and out of. I would suggest this book to ANYONE. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK.....EXCITED....

The Boy who saw to much may not have Forseen this
The Boy who saw too much may not have Forseen the impact this marvelous children's book would have to not only the special needs community but to every child and parent. This book could only have been written by someone that knows too well from working close with special needs children that all these wonderful children have an abundance of abilities. Abilities that are waiting to be discovered. April Whitt has focused on showiing that Romeo Riley is just like every kid. Very clever, funny and sweet book. Romeo Riley the Boy who saw Too much reminds me of the old sitcoms in which a character would make too much out of something to only find out it was something innocent. I think it's a great read. Wonderful book for any child- great message
Private Eye Romeo Riley is a wonderful book for any child because it is fun and interesting. Great for a book report. The Author April Whitt combines humor and intrigue and not pity to introduce the Hero Romeo Riley, a boy with Cerebral Palsy in a wheelchair that solves mysteries. His special needs classmates/friends are spotlighted and included in the mystery. As a mother of a child with CP I was happy to see a book with children in a wheelchair, feeding tubes and speaking boards and that was not the focus. The focus is on what they can do- not what they can't. I look forward to the next book and feel this would make a great gift for any child that has special needs and can read about a character that is like them ( very rare) and for the typical child to help them better understand children with special needs and that we are all the same. You can read more about the author and keep updated on the series. link [...]Marie Kennedy -Author , My Perfect Son has Cerebral Palsy[...]

Romeo stole my heart!
Romeo is such a lovable character, he immediately stole my heart! This book is so inclusive, you look beyond Romeo's disabilities to see his unique abilities and delightful personality. It is clear that the author has great empathy for students with learning challenges, and she helps us all see with new eyes! You will want to share this book with families you know who could use a smile and a little encouragement :)
