A**I
EXCELLENT COUCHES, EXCELLENT VALUE, TERRIBLE DELIVERY EXPERIENCE.
Product Pros:Raymour and Flanigan furniture stores carry a collection called the "Duchess" which is designed by Aria Designs and sold to them. I loved the design and style but Raymour grossly increased the price to almost $,2,000 per sofa after a nationwide price increase in October of 2020. So I decided to try and buy directly from the manufacturer, I do not like wasting money. Someone told me Aria Designs actually takes inspiration from Acme Furniture so I did some searching and realized that Acme's "Gaura" collection is literally the "Duchess" collection from Raymour and Flanigan it just has a different colored fabric and a more visible center leg. This version has a center leg that is not visible in the photo and the pillows are different. I actually prefer the darker gray fabric option from Acme Furniture and the color of the pillows (the Raymour pillows are white fur). Being a Prime member it is also free shipping so I ordered two large sofas. The quality is excellent, there was no visible damage and they came fully assembled except for the legs which were neatly in a bag inside the sofa (the bottom unzips). The couches have a spring system and a center leg that is a few inches off the ground to allow the couch to break-in over time so it prevents it from sagging. These are extremely high quality sofas. The pillows are great, very firm and a little "crinkly" because of the filling but this helps them maintain their shape. My only complaint was the shipping process - see below.Product Cons:I have no complaints about the sofas. They are gorgeous, well constructed and very sturdy. They are very firm but they will break-in over time, remember the middle leg is a major bonus to prevent too much sagging.Notes:The legs are inside the underside of the sofa. You may want to purchase anti-skid circle pads for the legs since the couches do move easily on a hard wood floor. Amazon has peel and stick circles skid pads I bought, they are small enough to be hit under the legs.Shipping:The shipping process was such a nightmare I had to get the executive office of Jeff Bezos involved. I ordered March 12, 2021 And I finally received the couches on April 9, 2021. I won't bore you with all the details but I'll give you some bullet points. These are the facts so you will be aware of what could happen. I was told they're "working on improving the process."1. When I ordered the sofas they temporarily charged my card with a credit hold but didn't actually take out the money until a month later. They only actually charge your card fully when the couches actually ship from the manufacturer.2. When I first purchased the listing said they ship in 2-3 weeks. Customer service also led me to believe it would be received in 2-3 weeks. That was false.3. Since these are heavy items they are managed by Amazon's HBS (Heavy Bulk Services) department. They will have different information than a typical customer service rep would. If you have to call about these sofas make sure to ask for someone in Heavy Bulk Services.4. Amazon doesn't actually deliver the sofas. They pick it up from the manufacturer (Acme Furniture) and send it to one of two different freight delivery companies, in my case it was a company called CEVA. They have their own tracking number but it can't be tracked until Amazon actually picks it up from the manufacturer.5. The Amazon HBS reps lied to me stating the delivery delay was due to covid and other manufacturing issues at ACME. So I called Acme Furniture directly and found out there was no manufactung issues at all and my two sofas were ready to go 5 days after I ordered them - they were literally sitting in their warehouse waiting for Amazon to pick them up and deliver them to CEVA who would then deliver them to me.I ordered March 12th and they were ready for Amazon to pick up on March 17th but Amazon didn't pick them up from Acme until April 2nd! Come to find out the April pickup date was scheduled all along but no one told me, instead, the Amazon reps kept lying saying it was delayed by Acme. When I found out the delay was actually Amazon's fault I contacted a manager at HBS and they admitted that they knew all along that there was a April 2nd pickup date but they're not supposed to tell customers the pickup date because it's subject to change (so blame the manufacturer?) On April 2, 2021 Amazon finally picked them up from Acme Furniture and delivered them to CEVA. At that point CEVA contacted me to schedule a delivery for April 9th.6. I was told by the manager at Heavy Bulk Services that the CEVA delivery person would place the items in my home and take away the boxes after I explained that I have a back injury and can't lift them and have very small trash receptacles. They told me part of the delivery includes them bringing them in they just couldn't go up any stairs.7. The day before delivery - CEVA told me that Amazon had no notes on file for the sofas to be put in my home and that they just place them inside the front door.I explained the nightmare situation and they said they would need approval from Amazon to add-on the feature of bringing it in my living room and taking the boxes away. Amazon denied this request! I reached back out to my contact at the Jeff Bezos executive office that I had been communicating with and they still denied that add-on even though I was told by a previous manager that it could be done! They cited that if they do it for one customer they have to do it for all of them. They said my delivery issues are highly irregular and not common so you'd think they would have made an exception to this erroneous policy to appease a customer who just spent thousands on two sofas. When buying the sofas there is not even an option for the customer to pay if they need the sofas brought further into the house or need the boxes removed. After a month of back and forth with customer service they didn't believe it was worth paying a fee to have CEVA haul away boxes and help bring it in my living room which was right near the door. I was told I could ask the CEVA driver myself if they would help bring it inside but there were no guarantees because they use independent contractors and it's up to the driver. This was very stressful.8. Luckily on the delivery day, CEVA showed up, albeit later than the delivery window, but the driver was very nice and brought them into my living room for me since I couldn't lift with my back injury. He couldn't take the boxes away but surprisingly the boxes broke down very easily, the boxes had damage but luckily the couches were not damaged. They were wrapped in very thick plastic and were situated on mini wooden planks.9. Overall this shipping process was an absolute nightmare. I was compensated for the delivery issues but it still didn't cover all the wasted time with phone calls to customer service at all three companies over the prior month.Summary: If you order these sofas, they are worth it and the price is fantastic but be prepared to wait at least a month before receiving it, despite what the listing shows on here those dates do not mean they will be in your home by then. Dealing with ACME directly was fantastic, dealing with CEVA was great but dealing with Amazon was a nightmare. I don't know if I'll ever trust their call center employees again after all the lies, it is unfortunate that I had to contact Jeff Bezos's office to get anywhere and even then they were unable to simply pay for the add-on to have the sofas brought into my living room. If the Amazon reps tell you they will do that that is also a lie. Luckily, I had a good driver that helped me, they didn't have to do that.I hope this lengthy review helps someone. These are great couches but get ready to wait for them.
