The media could not be loaded. These have been popular and fun for such a long time, very nostalgic. As a huge fan of the Alien films, these were a big part of the set decor in one of the most memorable scenes of all time when the Alien chestburster is first revealed. Of course, in all the sequels, these little drinking birds are kind of thriwn in to the background as a callback to the original film. Even included in the Alien Isolation video game.This particular bird is not exactly screen accurate to the film, but is easy to modify with a little paint and a larger blue feather.I've read a few reviews claiming it doesn't work, but you do have to slightly adjust the balance of where the tube fits in the metal bracket. And the glass of water is a requirement. The fuzzy beak soaks up a little water each time, and the evaporation cools the vapor inside the head which draws the liquid up the tube. There are some fun YouTube videos that explain the science behind the toy's functionality.Quality-wise, it's a simple toy, so not much to it. As long as the glass tube isn't broken upin arrival, everything else is simple plastic pieces. Looks great and functions as expected.For less than $10 shipped, that's a great value for such an entertaining and educational little toy. Even better when you have personal nostalgia for it, or just enjoy it as a call back to the Alien films.

**A Classic Cool-Down**This little guy is a total blast from the past! It's a simple pleasure that never gets old. Watching it sip and sway is oddly satisfying, almost hypnotic. My wife and I love it. Brings back lots of childhood memories.

Adults and kiddos alike love this bird! The biggest hit of the Easter basket. Our kiddo is gentle and careful overall, but it does seem very breakable. Kinda hard to find the right size cup for it to drink from, too. But overall recommend enthusiastically. Classic!

My kids are obsessed with these and after reading a book where the teacher had one, I knew I needed to buy one.I read reviews where the bird doesn’t work right but you have to be patient and keep making small adjustments to get him to fall where you need him to drink.

My bird arrived broken. :( The glass or plastic neck was snapped in two... I am very disappointed that i cannot enjoy my drinking bird. I was looking forward to having it and enjoying it on my desk. It was also smaller than I expected but thats fine. And it was also cheaper quality than I thought which accounts for the damage. It should have been packaged more securely. I would hope this seller would replace another drinking bird for me or send a refund.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I gave 3 stars because i don’t think its the product itself. My upper floor apartment is hot and humid so it doesn’t work for me unless the a/c is running. I only bought it because it reminded me of my grandfather because he had one when I was little.
