Yes, as long as you are ok with your curls being very soft. This is not a stiff gel type of product.

Does it leave hair your sticky?

Kind of "crunchy". but I love it!

Would it work on fine, sparse ,gray premed hair to revitalize curl?

YES and you will LOVE IT! I've been using for years (since before the product's name change) on my very fine & thin hair but curly hair. It's the only product that gives my curls definition. I actually use it after my hair has air dried (which happens very quickly since it's so thin).
