It takes a bit of maneuvering to install properly, but it's not very complicated. Make sure to not push the unit too far onto the vacuum as that will leave the unit always turned on. I cant talk to longevity, but the unit sufficiently grabs on so that it does not wobble or move. I'm very glad I purchased this. As other commenters have noted, Dyson should design their vacuums with a simple on/off switch. But, this unit is a cheap, easy and effective fix for that design flaw.

I really like this item because it holds the trigger down and saves my finger. The only negative thing is that the red lever broke after almost a year of light use.

Works better than I imagined. Fits right in and is pretty secure once lodged. Very discreet. I got it mostly for when I’m using one of those third party flexible hoses but it’s so well integrated that you ca leave it there on the trigger all the time, with any attachment. Comes in a very nice, hard plastic case.
