Beyond123 BambinoLUK Starter Pack

I am an Early Childhood Teacher and the mother to a very bright (naturally, lol) 27 month old. The Bambino system is fabulous! Not only does my son absolutely love working on the puzzles, but he gets such a feeling of pride and accomplishment after completing each one. All I had to do was show it to him once and he was off. We worked our way through the three primary books within a few days and now he has moved on to the sample 3-5 year old book. The puzzles are fantastic and get progressively more difficult. When he is working I can really see him concentrating. He actually asks me to play with the books. I love that he is learning and having fun while doing so. It is very difficult to find appropriate puzzle books for this age group. They are either too easy or too hard. These books allow your child to work at exactly the appropriate level of challenge for them. Really a wonderfully well thought out product. I am now going to order the rest of the series! I highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!I also want to add that parents spend so much time drilling their toddlers with the alphabet, numbers, etc. The fact is, they should be working on the very skills that Bambino reinforces with them. Prepare your toddler to learn! Work on their concentration, critical thinking, focus etc. Teach them to cut and paste, to balance on one foot, to jump and climb! They will learn the alphabet and such when it is developmentally appropriate to do so. No true early childhood teacher is impressed by a three year old who can sing their abcs and count to 50. It just means they've been coached and drilled. Help your child become a life long learner, not just a parrot! My PSA for the day :)

I grew up in Germany and with the LUK system. Back then they did not have the Bambino or Mini LUK but one with 24 tiles that probably every school has! This said it might be interesting to know that Westermann- the company that produces these- is one of the main schoolbook publishers in Germany. When I saw now that they have LUKs for little kids, too, I actually asked my mom for one for my son's second birthday! She brought it over- together with some books that are for Two-year olds! My son was 21 months at the time and fell immediately in love with his LUK!We started with really easy exercises (duck tile on duck picture and so on) in the beginning and it took him a while to be able to manage the next step (match what is underneath that tile) but once he understood it there was no stopping him! After 3 months he still plays it almost daily (just almost because it's summer and he plays outside a lot)! He still loves it and I can see a constant improvement in his skills!I just wish that there was a wider variety of books available over here! In Germany there are currently 58 books available that range in the difficulty level from 2-6 years old!But even though there are not that many books available over here ( I think it is 15), this is a great toy that your child will love for many years!

The Beyond123 BambinoLUK Starter Pack is what I consider to be a foundational or starter kit geared for those who are perhaps new to BambinoLuk product line. As such, this introductory kit includes only those components that are absolutely essential to get a feel for what the BambinoLuk offers. The kit includes one "controller", one book, a parent guide and a skills chart.The majority of the materials included are what I would consider to be marketing materials; most of the starter kit focus on explaining how this toy helps child to develop critical thinking skills. As such, the puzzles found in the one booklet included in the starter set are taken from a several different Luk booklets.I would strongly suggest customers who might be considering purchasing this starter set visit beyond123.com's website and play the online version of the toy before purchasing this particular kit. In addition, to the online version, Beyond 123 offers an iPad app. Either option provides some example puzzles and will give those new to the BambinoLuk learning system a glimpse of the skills areas addressed within product line.Regardless of the limitation of the starter kit, the BambinoLUK is still a one-of-a-kind learning system which provides young children with the opportunity to engage in developmentally approximate critical thinking and problem solving exercises and it is worthwhile investment. My only recommendation is for those considering purchasing the BambinoLuk Starter Set look into the online or iPad version of the BambinoLUK to get a feel for materials and then take a peek the Beyond123 BambinoLUK Early Learning Complete Set; rather than the "starter pack". While the complete set price tag is much higher than the starter set, the complete set contains a library of booklets each focusing on specific problem solving skills.My experiences with the BambinoLuk:We purchased this and one of the "Early Bloomer Collections" for our grandson based on the recommendation of a friend Zach, who specializes in what is commonly referred to as "twice exceptional" children along with gifted/talented children.To be clear, Zach actually recommended that we purchase the Beyond123 BambinoLUK Early Learning Complete Set, but I wasn't familiar with the Luk product line and the roughly $100 price tag is a lot to pay for a toy you are unsure about.So I did some of my own research.Even after I read the overwhelmingly positive reviews, AND watched a couple of the videos showing the learning system in action; I still wasn't sure that our grandson would be interested enough for such a pricey tile toy, but I was curious.. The recommendation had come from a colleague whom I respect and value his opinion; so I decided on a comprise of sorts.Rather than purchase the complete set, I chose to purchase the starter pack and one the bambinoLUK Brain Training Early Bloomer Collection Set 1As soon as our grandson started playing with the booklets in the starter pack I realized that I couldn't have been more wrong regarding suitability. What I had thought was a cute tile toy, turned out to be an entire critical thinking learning system. By the third time my grandson and I played with his "Luk", I was sold!Needless to say, the Luk is a great fit for our grandson, heck it is a great fit for any young child. Our grandson very much enjoys working through all the various puzzles and books. So much so that I ended up ordering 2 more book "sets" -spending more than I would have if I had simply bought the complete set in the 1st place. >guess I should have listened to Zach's original recommendation<FAVORITE FEATURE: I especially like how the tile play system makes it possible for children who may be less verbal .-----From an educational standpoint, this is an amazing product and I wish I would have known about the Beyond 123 products much earlier in my career. The puzzles are both fun and challenging at the same time, and it is definitely developmentally appropriate.This one-of-a-kind educational wonder toy, is exactly the type of toy we need in more US preschools. Additionally, the BambinoLuk does a fabulous job of encouraging children to sharpen a variety of critical thinking skills. From concentration, to visual perception, to early math skills; it is covered!___Update:We purchased the BambinoLuk Starter set for our grandson last winter; now more than six months later, he is still enjoying many of the little booklets. In fact, I am so impressed by the benefits of the BambinoLuk that we decided to purchase complete set for our 2.5 year old granddaughter AND we are planning on purchasing, what I hope is the next level set, miniLUK Brain Challenger Complete Set this fall for our grandson's 4th birthday.

My older child has the MiniLuk so I bought this for my 2.5 yr old. She took to it right away, putting the tiles in the correct squares on the controller and moving the tiles from there starting place to the picture they go with. This is a great toy to take along to appointments, etc. and it gives another opportunity to talk about preschool basics (shapes, colors, size, etc.) in a fun play setting. We may buy more books in the future but for now my daughter is happy to keep playing the same ones in the starter book.

Bought this item since I had the mini luk as a child myself. This product is even child friendlier and my girls 2 and 5 y old love it. I bought additional booklets and suddenly waiting at the doctors, in dance class for the girl who is not in class has become a fun filled time!
