Glad I bought this one!
I was debating between this GPS and the smaller one with the 7" screen. I am glad that I opted to go for this one, even for a hundred dollars more. The screen is large and easy to read, gives a lot of details, the display is TFT technology and is crystal clear. If you have an RV, this is a great choice. It gives you lots of information from campgrounds near you to the weather as well as warnings about low clearances. The bluetooth works great and the voice commands work quite well also. Suction cup works really well. I think this one is a keeper!UPDATE: 12-08-21 GPS crashed while uploading software and maps, probably my fault. This was just prior to a trip to Florida and GPS was pretty much useless. Got back home and called Garmin. Talked to a young man named Michael B. and he and I were on the phone for over an hour restoring the unit to factory specs. He was professional, patient, an expert on this RV-890, and at the end of the session the GPS is now performing as it should. I can not say enough about the fantastic support from Garmin! Would I buy this unit again?? Absolutely! It is a fine GPS, especially for a RV!

Huge step up from the RV760
I bought this to replace the Garmin RV 760 that I've been using for the last five years. The RV 890 is a major step forward. It's not just a larger and brighter screen. The software has been greatly improved, the user interface is more intuitive, the touch screen is more responsive, the voice recognition is better, and the processor is faster. The windshield suction mount on this thing is a beast, unlike the much smaller one that came with the RV 760 and would constantly lose its grip in warm weather. With its Bluetooth integration to the Garmin Drive app, the RV 890 brings a bunch of new features, including Foursquare integration (a big deal, not because I use Foursquare that much, but because their database contains many POIs that aren't in the Garmin database--allowing the unit to find more POIs than before), routings based on the type of RV (Class A vs. fifth wheel vs. bumper pull), built-in wifi updates, and more. Two of the best new features, though, are the ability to plan, save and retrieve multiple routes in advance--even indoors without a GPS signal--and route shaping, which lets you modify the unit's suggested route to, for example, take a different highway for part of the route without having to resort to "faking it" by entering a city on the desired route as an intermediate waypoint. There are so many more goodies that it will take time to try them all. This was a worthwhile upgrade for sure!

The best but wish it were better
I drive an RV, and I have been doing so for 20 years. I have tried so many GPS systems. Shoot, my new RV has one is the dash with Rand M. This Garmin unit is by far the best I have found to date. But!!!!! it could be so much better. The feature that other GPS systems (like Sygic) have that Garmin does not is the ability to plan a trip in Google Maps and send it to Garmin. You can send a destination but there is NO easy way to send a trip via a planned route from Google to Garmin. Other features missing: Reverse trip, Easy way turn off the GPS answer phone feature when I have an earbud in, and a "Please do not change my route for a faster route" feature. On the positive side, works better than the other brands. The magnetic mount is really nice. Easy interface. Quick boot up. I currently drive with both the Garmin and Google maps. Between the two, very reliable navigation. I would buy it again, but............ I would instantly buy an upgrade if it had a way to quickly import a route made in Google Maps.

Got us there with out taking any roads we should not have been on
The 890 worked well - we've taken one trip with it, about 1000 miles on a route that I know well. I mostly followed the 890's recommendations (they would have got us there OK) but I knew a couple shortcuts.I knocked off 1 star due to the fact that it comes with only 2GB of memory with only about 700 mb free which doesn't leav a lot of room to add Apps. Also it is based on Android 6, which is a fairly old version of Android as Android 12 is available. Basically it is just an Android tablet with Garmin software installed as far as I can tell.Overall, it worked well and I loaded the Garmin Drive app on my cell and it did a good job of keeping us alerted to traffic ahead. For those data concious people, the app used about 20mb of data in 400 miles of driving over 8 hours. The database of places seems to be well populated as it found the tavern in a very tiny town in the middle of nowhere.

Great GPS for my 36' Motorhome.
My in dash GPS/radio/CD player etc... went out on me just before a big trip. I Purchased the RV 890 navigator and mounted it on my dash. I figured out the problem with my in dash unit so now I have both working in my motorhome. Even though I fixed my in dash unit, I am very glad I bought the RV 890. It has a bigger clearer screen, is more user friendly, Lets me look up resorts, gas stations, campsites, and use routes by voice command etc...Also you can pull it off its magnetic mount very easily so your passenger can set things up or look things up from the convenience of their seat without bending over while going down the road. When your done you just put it near the magnetic mount and it will magnetically pull the unit onto the mount in the exact correct place.I really like this feature. The RV 890 isn't perfect. It seems to understand my voice commands most of the time, but sometimes it doesn't.Also if you program it to stay on interstate highways and put in an address well off of one it may give you a creative route. I think it's a great unit and the more I become familiar with it these issues will become less significant.Overall I'm very happy with the RV 890.

RAMTECH ELECTRONIC GPS WILL NOT WORK!
I Cannot connect the power cord, because the head of the power cord is too big to insert into the GPS. However, until I called Garmin Products, I learned, the RV Garmin power cord plugs into the base magnetic unit and NOT into the GPS. This should be information to any new buyer, before trying to return your unit!!!
