With its minimum weight and bulk Windrunner is a great all-round piece you can always carry in your pack. Feather light nylon fabric with dense weave offers excellent protection from wind and has a good, easy to reapply DWR coating. Its perfect for athletic activities such as running, as the mesh vents under the armpits and mesh inner pocket provide good airflow channels. WINDRUNNER Windshirt performs equally well in cold weather when worn over fleece jackets, as it adds wind and light rain resistance as well as prevents body heat from escaping.Features: ; Raw Material: Micro Ripstop Nylon with DuPontTM Teflon coating Fully adjustable hood with laminated brim; half length YKK zipper Mesh vents at armpits; Large handwarmer pocket with internal phone/key pockets; Reinforced elbows, elastic cuffs and hem.; Self packs into inner mesh pocket

Nice bit of kit
Packs down to almost nothing, weighs almost nothing too - but don't be fooled. Used over the top of a fleece, this smock stops wind chill and is fairly water resistant, although I would not recommend it for use in persistent or heavy rain. I use mine for general walking and have a multicam one for fishing, where I can keep it stashed in the rucksack and it is always there if I need it when the wind picks up or there's drizzle, even light showers. Quality is good, lots of adjustment and sizing seems bang on. I'm a 40" chest, so with a fleece on, the Medium size fits perfectly. It folds into itself (there's a little pocket sewn into it), but be careful when taking out of the pocket it is stored in - a pal of mine tore his by ripping it out of the pouch - after seeing someone do that in the official Helikon video of the product! I love this lightweight smock, but keep well clear of thorn bushes, as I fear it'll tear quite easily. Service from Military 1st, excellent as always.Just a footnote - people commenting that you're left with two big loops poking out when the hood is adjusted tight... you're not doing it right. Look inside the jacket and you'll find two draw cords extending down, pull these downwards as you adjust the hood - that takes up the slack and there are no loops poking out the sides of the hood. Hope that helps.

OK Lightweight Kit
The item is very light & packs down into a small footprint for easy carry. The hood is quite large & there are elastic ties on the side & the back to tighten it to fit snugly so that it doesn't catch strong winds. However I noticed that when I tighten the side elastic loops I end up having 2 large loops dangling by my ears. It looks a bit funny, but if you are using this for anything tactical, then you'd need to consider trying to not get it caught on your weapon system, vehicle handles, branches etc. The large front pouch is great but due to the lightweight material you don't want to put anything too heavy in it.
