If your a fan of vampire romances then its safe to say you've thought about what it would be like to be immortal. Its not a big leap to then assume you've considered the perfect age to be for eternity. I have and one thing that I imagine would suck (no pun intended)would be to be too old, an age which is subjective but still... I've never ever thought about how the opposite - being too young forever - would be awful.Kerrilyn Sparks brilliantly worked this into a story that made me sympathize with the hero from the start, even though he hadn't been tortured for years. I was ecstatic that he wasn't overidden with guilt over a really stupid hang-up (his hang-up is justified). Is there really anyway a vampire who looks like he's fifteen can get a decent meal without a little bit of pleasurable mind mojo? Keep reading but beware that some of the plot is revealed and I may have gotten carried away.Towards the begining of ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS I thought this book was going to be that really rare book that just makes you giddy with happiness after you finish.Yes, it was rife with cliches. Good vampires verses bad vampires with the ignorant humans as casualties in the middle. But for a while it was like Sparks was the first to have written such a plot. Ian, the hero, is a 400 + year old vampire who was stuck at the age of 15 for all that time (until very recently). This is something almost anyone would complain about but not Ian. Anyways, with some powerful help from genius Roman (the hero from the first Love at Stake book) he has managed to age 12 years in 12 days. And boy, did he become a handsome man. Of course, Ian doesn't know how delicious he is because in his world vampires cannot see their own reflections. Moving on, Ian isn't your average commitment-phobic hunk; he is looking for a long-lasting and fairytale love. Fortunately, he still has some faults and doesn't come off too unrealistic Prince Charmingly.Toni is your average lonely hero with a mission. I don't think the idea that love exists has even registered in her head before. For the mortal day guard of three very high-profile vampires, Toni's job seems to be a little dull and her infamous fighting skills are only impied... until the end. But from the begining she plans to betray the good vamps. Calm down, I don't mean she's gonna hand them over like helpless babes to the evil vamps. Only that she is going to use her position to find proof that vampires do exist and her friend in the mental institution isn't crazy.Overall it was a nice book. Not a reread-it-3-times kind of book but it will leave me with nice memories. The "I am so lucky to have found this book" faded but even cynical me strongly liked it.

I have read many of her books and loved every one. The vamps are sexy and funny. The ladies are smart, strong and funny. I can't wait for Dr. Fang to find his mate. With the invention of synthetic blood, they no longer need to bite to survive. They need to keep their secrets while still helping humans and fighting the malcontents. These books are great fun!

Ian MacPhie looked like he was 15 years old for 500 + years until he drank k some of Roman's Stay-Awake drug for 12 days to protect Heather & her daughter Bethany in book 4; since he now looks like a 27 year old he now wants to find a woman vampire that he can fall in love with & her with him. In this book he does find love but not with a female vampire; he finds it with a mortal woman.Toni after being attacked by some Malcontents was then hired by Connor to protect the vampires at the townhouse during the day & she was at 1st only doing that to find proof for her BFF who was also attacked by Malcontents. Until she got to know & fall in love with Ian that is.This book was very good as it had several sex scenes, fight scenes & a good vs bad plot. But, to find out more about what trials Ian goes through to find that his love had been with him all the time & watching him during the day you'll have to read this book for yourselves.

Study and working at odd jobs to survive. Her friend Sabrina was attacked by vampires and survive to tell the tale. Her uncle a psychiatrist took her at mental hospital but he seeks her inheritance when she graduated from college. Now Ian and toni meet at a town house of Roman a vamp who is genius who invent a blood perfect for human vampires alike. The blood saves human lives and vamp does not need to feed fro m human. For readers that does not had the first how to marry a millionaire vampire 1 who explains the good and bad ones. Is a must read I becomes a fan of love st stakes series and you will to. It romance, action emotional feeling and if are tired of evil and gruesome vampires made your self a favor go buy the book e book you will not disappointed. When I saw the title of the book I thought it was a little cheesy the I read the write up and it perked my interest. To read the story unfold and see Toni's character grow and come to like not just in her love for Ian but the lengths she goes to help and protect her friends and the people she loves. This book doesn't have just one story line but several. Toni is trying to rescue her best friend from her uncle that has had her commitment after her attack in order to take control of her inheritance. Ian is trying to find his true love, and uncover Toni's secret. Last but not least the Malcontents, the evil vampires and how Toni and Ian both have to try and survive the battle with them. This is one book definitely worth the price.

Toni is the newest victim of the Malcontents and the newest Day Guard for the Good Vampires. Then she runs into the hot vampire Ian and boy is he hot in his kilt. Toni knows she has a plan, she has to get Sabrina out of the psych ward and to prove vampires exist. She can't tell Ian what is going on and Ian knows she is hiding something. With the war with the Malcontents heating up can Ian convince Toni that there is more than humans and vampires to consider and that she must follow her heart? Great read and I loved Ian and Toni! Another hit from Kerrelyn Sparks in the Love at Stake Series.

A good read for people who are into the series recommended highly a good read but long still a good read must read the next in the series

I like her stories, but this one really only "got good" near the end. It was slow going in the beginning and middle.

love this book its the best one of this series about a vampire turned at the age of 15 to save his life (he was dying on a battle field when a good vampire came across him and turned him to save his life) who has lived for hundreds of years in a 15 year olds body (because obviously he couldnt age after being turned) who then takes a "stay awake drug" designed to keep vampires awake during the day but which has the unfortunate side effect of aging vampires 1 year for each day they stay awake... so he takes it for 12 days to age 12 years and then proceeds to look for a life mate to share eternity with... and then he finds toni who has taken on a job as day guard to the vampires and who he ends up falling in love with....amazing book and one i ll read again and again and again..... highly recommend you read this book!

Brilliant read, I would recommend to everyone whether or not you have read the others in the series. Our hero of the story is one Ian Mcphie, a vampire that has been trapped in the body of a 15 year old until now. With the new stay awake drug he is now in the body of a 27 year old man. Finally feeling as though he is in the right body he sets about achieving the second item on his wish list. Finding everlasting love. But the women of the time have changed and he is unsure how he should approach this latest goal so he turns to his friend Vanda who sets him up on the internet. Soon women are poring into see him, desperate for just a glimpse. Finally he may be able to find the lady vamp for him. But then he meets Toni.Toni is the new female day guard for the vamps and as soon as Ian see's her, he's not sure that a female vamp could ever compare. But Toni isn't all that she seems. She has a hidden agenda that involves her friend a mental hospital and the exposure of the vampires. All she needs is proof, and to not give in to the irresistible charm of a certain vampire. But for her to stand a chance of saving her friend she might have to let one of "them" in and risk him taking up permanent residence in her heart.Funny, sexy and just downright adorable a definite must read.

I'm a big fan of vampire books but not chick lit and this is a mix of both.I also love scottish rascals so it was for that reason i kept reading.It didn't make me laugh and the fact that Ian McPhie was turned at 15 yrs old but has'aged'to 27 because of a drug a bit creepy.Surely in his mind he is still adolescent?It started well with a friend of Tonis' being locked up in a mental hospital after telling the police she was attacked by vampires but went downhill for me once she managed to get a job as a bodyguard for the undead.Quite a bit of action and many characters makes this a fast paced book.I gave it 3* because it was well written and would appeal as it does to many,just not me.

Lovely and action packed storyline. Happy for Ian that he found his match. I love that the development of this series is so connected, flawless. Characters are great all with lot's of humour and I definitely like Carlos his story is amazing too. So happy reading, let's keep going LOL
