I bought this controller last year for both myself and my son to use with our computers for gaming. While he mainly uses it for modern PC games, I’ve mostly paired it with emulators to replay classics from my childhood—and it’s been a great experience on both ends. The controls are well-mapped to match their original systems and can be easily remapped within any emulator or game. The input response feels just as smooth and timely as it did on the original hardware, which is a huge plus for retro gaming.Bluetooth connectivity makes it super convenient to use from anywhere in the room, and you can charge it with any standard USB-C cable—no proprietary nonsense. The battery life has been solid so far too.I especially like the two rear paddle buttons, which you can customize based on your needs. I’ve personally used them to fine-tune responsiveness in certain games that require more precise inputs. And the retro transparent blue design? Total nostalgia. It’s a perfect throwback for anyone who grew up in the '90s when everything cool had that see-through plastic look. One of my favorite features is the switch on the back that lets you easily toggle between device types. It’s preprogrammed for different platforms, so switching between them is quick and effortless.Overall, this controller nails both form and function. Great for modern games, perfect for retro ones, and packed with thoughtful features.

Worth the hype so far
Not gonna lie, it was the transparent purple color that stuck out to me and made me look more into this controller. I was looking for a new switch pro controller and a new PC controller and this seemed to fit the bill, I got VERY interested once I started looking up this controller and seeing all the glowing reviews and features this thing has.I got it and I'll say it has some of the best feeling buttons/analog sticks I've ever used. It's not a 10/10 comfort wise but pretty close. I initially couldn't comfortably reach the L+R bumpers with my usual grip so I had to slide my hand down a bit so my middle fingers rested on the paddles but that also meant I didn't have ready access to the L+R bumpers. One visit to the 8bitdo app and I remapped the back paddles to be my new L+R buttons which worked beautifully and my grip is way more natural and comfortable. The analog sticks are tight and sensitive, good amount of resistance which I appreciate for added precision, the buttons are perfectly tactile and snappy without being "clicky" just the right amount of travel and resistance. This all translates over to the d-pad which is just downright a delight to use.The compatibility is also note worthy, Switch AND PC automatically and instantly recognized the controller and were mapped and fully working without any extra setup. They all worked with my new custom remapping and reconnecting/switching modes was super quick and painless. This now replaces my main PC and Switch controller and I'm looking for excuses to use my controller now.

Only controller I use.
Only controller I use, and it's insanely compatible. I use it for PC, Steam deck, Switch, and even my phone. If I had other consoles I'd use it for those too. It's a little up there but it's worth it. Go to their website to get the software to update it and you'll be able to set up profiles for separate games or even completely modify the layout (example, if you wanna make the A button be the B button, even for devices that don't typically support it, knock yourself out).I primarily use it wired, but it works perfectly well wireless with about as much lag as a real Nintendo Switch Pro controller, and it feels a lot better too. The gyro for the switch games that use it is probably even better than the Switch Pro controller (I've used it for splatoon 2 and 3 using gyro aim, that should say enough) and it goes without saying the gyro works great on PC as well.

Awesome Solid Controller
AWESOME! Great Stuff These controllers are by far the best, all around. Very versatile, easy to connect and use. A 20 minute charge usually lasts me a few days of playing 3-4 hours.. I already own the grey and the black Pro 2's... although they were the older models with old analogue sticks.. this new model has Hall Effect analogue sticks which uses magnetic sensor for accuracy and reduce "stick drift" ... can't wait to try it... The only warning I have is don't let water or moisture get inside the controller. (common sense with any electronics)Anyway.. you should go with this one...

8bitdo Pro 2
Initial review - exceeded expectations.Very impressed right out of the box. The look and feel of this controller screams ‘premium boutique’ rather than ‘inexpensive 3rd party item of lesser quality’. I got the all black controller and it looks amazing. The glossy, unlabeled buttons are a great look for this controller (the labels are on the side rather than on the buttons themselves). The texture on the back feels great, button and stick placement is perfect. The analogue triggers are surprisingly light, there’s no resistance like on the PS5 controller. The whole thing feels extremely lightweight and yet still premium, solid and durable. My PS5 controller squeaks and squished and feels very loose in construction. The Pro 2 has no such chintzy feel to it. It feels absolutely solid. The shape fees better to hold than the PS5 controller.I spent $75 on the red PS5 controller and it developed stick drift in less than 200 hours. It didn’t come with a replaceable battery or even a USB-C cable. For $50, the Pro 2 is a much better choice, and it’s compatible with any system and has software so you can customize it exactly how you want. I also own a Switch Pro controller that costs more and doesn’t even have analogue triggers, but does come with insane input lag.Works great. Looks great. Feels great. Price is great. Functionality is great. You won’t regret buying this controller.
