I suppose you could look at it that way... But... I doubt a filing cabinet would last very long on the trail... This thing is bullet proof...!!! and looks awesome... Expensive... Perhaps.... But cheaper in the long run... Time and money...

Does the top slide out and the cutting board slide out as well? Like can you slide the top out and then the cutting board out or is one or the other

The cutting board is imbedded in the sliding top... Leave the top where it is and slide out the cutting board, or slide out the top and then the cutting board too... Very kool...

How well does the drawer seal? Looking to mount it in the bed of my pickup

It doesn’t, there is a gap between the sliding top and the storage drawer.
