Not diamond; very coarse
These are very well-made files, and do seem like the will last for a long time. Nice sizes, and nice stainless steel handles. Unfortunately, although advertised as "diamond", they are not. These are sapphire files, and quite good, although sapphire is not as durable as diamond, and the false (or sloppy) advertising annoys me. To be fair, there are a LOT of files listed as "diamond" on Amazon which are not, in fact, made with diamond. These are great for rapidly shaping nails, but that's about it. They seem to be the same grit on each file (there are 3 of them) and on both sides. I'd put it at no finer than maybe 180 grit, which is pretty coarse. Would have been nice to have a shaping grit on one side and a finishing grit on the other -- say, a 240 fine grit. Oh well.

When I first opened these, my thought was they are too thick! But they work great and shape your nails with little effort! Quite comfortable to hold onto as well!
