fantastic and small
I absolutely love this little light. I had also purchased a small light like this but I didn't like it because you always had to have two hands to turn it on. I have this light on my key chain and I don't even notice it. It takes only a depression of your finger to turn it on. Only one hand. It has a switch that you can click so that the light will stay on. Most of all I love that I can put it in my small Altoids can emergency kit with other items. The brightness is really great for this little guy and does disperse fairly well over a 180 degrees. So you could hang it up in a tent to get light generally all around. Not like a lantern but still very good. The only suggest and concern that I have is that when I packed this up in my Altoids kit I had to be careful that when I closed the lid that the light button would not be depressed otherwise it would drain the battery. The button is recessed a little so I just made sure that it was laying on something flat rather than an object that protruded so it wouldn't turn on. Not sure there is anything that could be done any different. It's one of the most useful emergency preparedness tools because it's so small and you would always have access to it. Also, I was worried about how to replace the batteries... it's not a big issue but does require a very small phillips screw driver and then a couple of coin type batteries to replace. I have had mine now for about 3 months and use intermittently and still no signs of dimming of the light. I have now purchased one for each of my family members. I'm sure my kids will put it through the destructive testing phase :) so I may have more input later.

Very versatile and good quality
I ordered 3 varieties - a slightly more expensive LRI PWK Photon II LED white beam with variable intensity switch; a std orange beam and a standard red beam light. They all come with a clip. The PWK Photon comes with a lanyard, a standard ring clip AND an alligator type clip device ideal to insert any of these 3 types on to this clip to attach to the bill of a baseball hat. All 3 are very compact and appear to be solidly made. The white beam light beam intensity can be changed from faint to bright light and it IS bright make no mistake. After one excellent and technical reviewers comments, I found that the orange, red, and white lights each have their advantages and disadvantages depending on how you use them. In a dark room when you don't want to be too obvious nor lose your night vision the red beam is ideal. The orange is slightly more intense for similar purposes. The variable white beam LED is perfect for those outdoor grilling sessions when you've got a late start, its dark and the little lady is wondering when you are gonna grill the burgers for the family. No more trying to hold or position a flashlight, simply clip this little buddy on your hat bill and aim. Perfect burgers and 2 hands now are useful. So, the price is very reasonable around 8+ buckaroos so why not buy all three. Tack on another of Amazon's smaller item you've saved in your Wish List to get to the minimum 25 buck purchase and get a 4-some with free shipping. These are keychain-sized lights and fit in a key case or dangle with your other keys ready for use any time. I'm really impressed with all three. All of mine came in the OEM plastic packaging so no issues about refurb or knock-offs with my order. As others have cautioned, do NOT accept any of these lights if repackaged. Perhaps Amazon has been taking those complaints seriously and that is no longer an issue.

Really Bright Tiny Light
I bought this light a few months ago and have been very pleased. I used to have a traditional AAA battery filled mini-maglight for many years, but it finally got lost and I decided to replace it. What immediately intrigued me (besides all the positive reviews on Amazon) was that it was much smaller and less bulky than my maglight. I could hook it to my keychain without feeling like I was carrying a bulky set of keys and accessories... Don't be fooled by cheaper lights -they won't be as bright as this. I have used it to light my way through dark alleys, and to find something in darkened rooms). You never know how much you need instant light until the one time you really need it and don't have it... I think it would make a great present for a loved one. For a guy, it is cool, and useful. For a gal, it is tiny, and unobtrusive, and can fit in the smallest purse... There is also a mini on/off switch which you can use to keep the light permanently on -this is a nice feature which I haven't had to use yet. The only drawback is that the price is high, but it is what it is... I'd buy it again.

Bottom Line review of LRI PWK Photon II LED Keychain Micro-Light, White Beam
In two days, it will have been 2 years since I purchased this micro-light for my partner. I had been using one for a moth prior and I knew she would benefit from it as much as I had. Bottom line - I would highly recommend this light for a an EDC (every day carry), emergency, survival or backpacking/hiking light. Beyond its feather- weight and compact design advantages, the Micro-Light is bright enough to illuminate your pathway on a starless night. I like to use it next to my office and house keys to aid me swiftly find the keyhole in the dark (there are monsters lurking out there). The light has numerous features like strobe, dimming and auto shut-off to conserve battery life and minimize incidental annoyance. As of a couple of months ago, the light has lost about 40% of its intensity but I can still use it fine. I also already ordered a backup for myself (the one that has alternate attachments such as to the fingertip attachment - LRI FMW Photon Freedom LED Finger-Light, White Beam - FMWRL - apparently not currently available) but have yet to seriously test it. The battery is supposed to be replaceable. For $10, buy a few and keep them everywhere (home, office, car, backpack, jacket...) It's great when a piece of technology is both inexpensive and completely useful. Recommend !

Great light, but newer model is better
The Photon Micro-Light II is very small, hangs easily on a keychain, and shines brightly for a light smaller than your thumb. The light illuminates when you push a button with your thumb. While I like the light a lot and it works very well, there are a couple significant downsides to this particular model. First, to keep the light on when you remove your thumb, you must slide a tiny, tiny switch -- something that people with limited mobility will find difficult if not impossible to do. For most folks it's not hard, but for some it would be a concern. Second, changing the batteries requires you to remove four tiny screws with an extremely small philips head screwdriver (similar in size to a screwdriver for the screws in eyeglasses). I would suggest considering a more recent model by the same manufacturer, the Photon Freedom Micro Light [Tools: Flashlights ], which addresses my concerns about the Photon II. Changing the batteries on the Photon Freedom does not require removing screws, the brightness can be adjusted, and the thumb button controls a number of lighting options without the stiff, ridiculously small sliding switch. Many color beams (including UV, IR) are available for both the Photon II and the Photon Freedom (you choose one color beam to purchase--you don't get several colors out of the same flashlight), and the newest version of the Photon Freedom with white beam boasts a new LED twice as bright as earlier models. Well over a year since purchasing several of these, the lights are still working. The light has been very helpful and convenient to keep in the car. I attached a small square of adhesive velcro (loop side) to the back of one of these lights, and attached a small square of the corresponding hook side of the velcro to the top of the steering column of the car (behind the steering wheel). The light is tiny, out of the way, and right where I can access it instantly to check a tire at night or check the engine. In sum, Photon II is a great little light, durable and bright. The newer Photon Freedom is somewhat easier to use and maintain and boasts more features.

One of the best, lightest & simple keychain lights you can get.
Have used these microlights on my keys since they came out (2007 or 8 ish) Have gifted a few dozen over time to family, friend's, etc. All of whom have appreciated. Does not come on accidently in pocket. With the simple design, there is no parasitic drain so, the battery can last for well over a year or two. If it gets wet inside (only experienced it once through immersion of over 4' under water) you just disassemble carefully (4 eyeglass screws) dry it out, reassemble it and bobs your uncle. I carry a Lumintop FW3A for EDC but, occasionally your hands can be full so, turn on the switch to keep it on and it gives you plenty light to see that dark lock in same hand as keys. No need to try and fumble with your phone flashlight. Buy these with confidence for a super small, light & functional little light. Good for zippers on coats, bags or purses to see inside, keys etc.

Made in the USA quality!
You can get a few cheap “imported” micro lights for the price of one of these, but you’ll probably be buying replacements in a few months. These little guys are very well made (in the USA) and surprisingly bright. Highly recommend this light over cheaper alternatives.
