Reflection

What a refreshing read! I can't remember the last time I sat down and read an entire book of poetry. But if you're gonna start, this is a great place to do it. "What we say to ourselves every day is what separates the achiever from the dreamer" - TL Tyler Lockett does an amazing job of expressing himself eloquently through poetry, using his own life experiences as fodder for reflection, encouragement, and direction. He focusses on what he knows best and does an incredible job on shedding light into life situations, while offering advice and support to others along the way. "your lifestyle says more to people than the things you say our your mouth Just be who you are and stay true to yourself Cause being you and doing what you do is why you got so many people looking up to you" - TL This reads as a mix of a self-help book and a diary of sorts. He waxes poetic about not being a victim, living with purpose, single parenting, making good choices, relationships, changing the past, and even deeper thoughts on anxiety, depression, and suicide. "so much hate in this world we need more than a hug we be looking for love in all the wrong places tryna fill these voids, but we got empty spaces" - TL This book would actually make an awesome group study or even a youth retreat workbook. Spread throughout the chapters are little study guides and reflections to help you dig deeper and go further. I used them as talking point with my own sons to talk about sex before marriage, depression, and how to manage money. It's a great starting point for deep conversations without being too heavy.

I am a huge Tyler Lockett fan because of my 12 year old. He made my son’s day in 2017 when we attended a Seahawks vs. Bears game. He played catch with kids in the stands before the game. In addition to that experience, some random stranger gave my son a Seahawks meet and greet ticket, so he got his autograph. When I saw this book was released, I wanted to show support for our favorite player. I like this book because it highlights the power of the reflection. I used to like to write when I was younger and I stopped as life continued to get busier. Reading this book helped me reflect on my purpose and my relationship with the universe. It is simple yet powerful. We live our lives as we perceive them. You live a blessed life if you count your blessings everyday. You live a tragic life if all you can focus on are the things you don’t have. This book is a great reminder to reset your mindset to live the life you want to live. Thanks Tyler for the push to keep dreaming and doing!

Great read from a great guy

Tyler went above and beyond with this one! I had been anticipating this book for a month or so before he released it and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't just a poetry book, but a workbook as well. That added another layer of substance to this already powerful book! Tyler poured out his thoughts and shared his heart in this book, and it has completely inspired me to be unashamed of Christ, to own my individuality and to make reflecting a daily part of my life. I cannot wait until he releases more materials, he's an awesome writer. You won't be ashamed if you make this purchase!

I like how he includes “writers workshops” so the reader can reflect his or her own life on paper after reading the poems! Teaches great life lessons, sometimes the poetry is hard to relate but that’s because he takes his own creative liberties! Appreciate it, worth the buy!

I already really like Tyler Lockett now even more so. Uplifting and thoughtful book. I pick it up all the time a read a few pages each time. Helps keep things in perspective.

Hello, I recently had back surgery in January 2019, knee surgery in August 2019 ,& another major back surgery November 2019. Speaking from my heart, I got lost and went done the wrong road with alcohol and pain pills trying to get relief. I seen this book, it has me seeing things in a different perspective than before. I wished I could think Tyler Lockett personally, he has motivated me to change my ways devote myself to becoming a different me in times like this. I highly recommend, some stories don't reflect to me but so many do. It's a must read, thank you Tyler Lockett, Thank you!!

I first have to admit that the reason I bought this book for my Kindle was simple, I'm a Seahawks fan and I have always thought Tyler looked like such a nice guy. When he smiles (after a touchdown! :D ) I have to smile too, his face would light up a room. But to the point! This book is beautiful. It makes you stop and think about your life and spirituality. I know that I will be re-reading it several times. Thank you Tyler for sharing yourself with us! Go Hawks! :D

What a talented writer and thinker NFL footballer Tyler Lockett is. Reflection is a great read-honest yet full of hope. I really like Reflection’s confrontational style as it urges us to take a deep look inside ourselves, learn and ultimately be transformed. Young people will particularly benefit from listening to someone like Tyler who understands their fight because he has been there. Congratulations Tyler for sharing your experiences and strategies for overcoming negativity.
