A well laid out, challenging, competitive, and addictive piece of software.
This is the time to buy this game. Ignore all past reviews about software issues for a modern purchase, this game has had over 3 GB's of updates and is now a solid game as was intended on release. I have tested this game extensively with Premium over all maps and game modes and I can tell you this game suffers from nothing more than a few very minor bugs. The only glitch I can even think of while writing this actually is about a sixth of the time after being revived the character model will kind of bounce up and down a little bit until you either play through it for a minute or get a kill; which is not a big deal since the aiming isn't affected by the light jolts. Really if your not willing to put up with something like that I don't know how you can call yourself a gamer when talking about a hallmark game like this. Comparing to Battlefield 3 the only issue I have with this games is that Conquest and Rush matches end much quicker because of quicker ticket drain, because I would love to play just about all of BF4's maps much longer. Seeing how most actually complain about the length of BF3 matches though, most gamers might enjoy this. If you want to pick up a great FPS game for cheap, let me talk you into at least trying this flagship of the genre. Just know if you are interested in all of the DLC including the free maps, that plus the base game and updates is going to total about 26.5 GB.

Battlefield 4 Review
Let me start off by saying that I haven't played a Battlefield game since the original Xbox version of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, and that game was pretty awesome at the time. I piddled around with the first Bad Company but I didn't like it at all. I pre-ordered this game when I saw the commercials for it because I was pretty hopeful that it would be awesome. Well, after finally getting to play it last night for the first time (keep in mind that I have not delved into the multiplayer yet because I'm old school and like to finish the campaign/story mode before anything else) I was really impressed. I loved it! I'm using the older version of the Xbox 360 and I didn't have any problems with the game freezing or anything. Everything was seamless and the graphics are really good for a current-gen game. The story in the campaign so far is just meh so far lol. It's not bad by any means, but it hasn't really got me ranting and raving about it. Maybe waiting a couple days before I popped it in the ol' 360 was a good thing to let the bugs and kinks worked out because I had zero problems with the campaign. As far as the multiplayer goes, I will just have to update this review later when I get the chance to mess around with it.

Full of bugs and issues, but fun while it lasts...
I'll start out by saying, I got this game for half price. If they fix all of the major bugs I will probably bump this to a 5 star rating for the price I paid. So the good: The game is a blast to play. I have mostly been play multiplayer and even though the numbers are limited to 24, the maps are still a lot of fun. There are a few maps where you start just a little too close to the front lines for my taste, but you don't have to go too far for action. I have been playing a lot of Rush and Conquest. Both types have been a lot of fund to play. I will say the vehicles are scares. I know this probably has a lot to do with the small map size that Xbox 360 gets, but may a few maps where we get some true vehicle warfare. The good part about the lack of vehicles is you get in lots of trigger time. The bad part is sometimes it feels unbalance. Especially when someone with some skills takes one over. That can turn the battle quickly. I haven't noticed much about he levelution but there are small events that change the battled a bit. The graphics are nice and they do show off the new engine, even on the old console. Also, I like the starting point on the vehicles. They gave most people the most important stuff, so you can hop in a vehicle, even long after launch and be competitive. I do with I could get my scopes back on my assault rifles, but that just because I'm not very good and cannot play more than a few hours here or there. They give you good starting weapons. Other than marksman and sniper rifles, everything else is mostly eye-candy. And the bad: I really hate the change in controls by default. I am giving them a try but I'll probably go to "veteran" because I'm just use to them. When you get the game and you've played the old one, just go switch all the controls the veteran. Everything has some changes. Maybe I'll get use to them or maybe I'll just admit I'm old an hate change. Again, the lack of vehicles makes for fun battles, but also make some of the battles almost unfair. And yes the UGLY: This game is buggy. Searching for servers or choosing quick server will not get you where you want. You'll do quick server Conquest and end up playing Rush. Or you'll search for Air Superiority maps and get everything else. So you'll start the game a little annoyed. But no biggie, you'll find that game. See there is an open spot or two. Select it.... and get an error saying "No Commander Spots". Well that's weird, I don't want to be commander (nor am I ranked high enough). Select down a few further... same message... a little further... and finally, you got in a server. So you start playing. Round goes by, you go 1 and 19. Sweet, I got that guy good! Next round starts and your buddy get in the helo! You jump in that gunner's seat and let them have it. You're flying around shooting at nothing (because you're terrible, like me) and you start seeing that hit indicator. Oh boy, this will be the round with 2 whole kills.... wait.... what.. huh? The screen is frozen. Second time today... com'on! So you turn off the Xbox 360, realize your a grown man with obligation and go do something else. Seem to be a current theme for this game. Either freezes or very normal booting from servers due to connection 'loss'. And these are all DICE servers. So in conclusion: The game is fun, while it lasts. The battles are small but intense. Things are pretty well balanced and very nicely polished. But, and there is always a but, the game is NOT ready. I don't know if they even care about Xbox 360 with the new guys out, but still. Some of us are not ready to change systems. I'm glad I own this game. I will continue to play, but the freezes and disconnections need to become less frequent. I have extra fans to help keep my Xbox 360 cooler. They could not have tested this game and not found all of these bugs. I played less than 10 rounds today and got 2 complete freezes and 2 server boots. I'm glad I paid half price. I'll buy it on Xbox One when I get one. I would not pay full price for this game until more patches come out. I will update this review when I see things change. Hope this helps you. Keep watching for Holiday deals! Maybe I'd be better at Assassin's Creed (Christmas hint!) *Update* They have gotten many of the bugs worked out over the last month. I have played for hours with no issues. I am adding a star to my review because I have had a blast playing this game. I don't think it's worth full price, yet, but I'd pay more than I currently have and I will buy it for Xbox One when I get one (as stated above). I did purchase premium because it will transfer to Xbox One.

Great game
I don't know why everyone always complains and has to pick apart games constantly. Everyone has their ideas on what the game "should be" but people don't realize that you can't please everyone only the majority. Game companies try different things in order to evolve and make a better gaming experience. Does this always work or go according to plan? No, and that's how it goes. Something doesn't work then it's back to the drawing board. If companies put the same thing out year after year people would complain about spending $60 on the same game every year. So pick one. Would you rather buy the same game every year or get something fresh, something new, something a little different from the last. That being said I thought that this was a great game. It's a blast to play and worth the money you spend, especially if it's on sale. Yeah it could be tweaked a little here and there, but that's what patches are for. I haven't experienced any of the problems with my 360 version that people have complained about but that's probably because the patches have fixed them. So don't let the bad reviews sway you. If you are reluctant to buy it then wait until it's on sale. But it is definitely worth the money.

Cant see why the 1 star ratings ??? This game rocks !!
I cant believe all the 1 star ratings,, must be from 4gb xboxs. I have HAD very few problems and textures are bland on some maps but the vast variety of destructable buildings and stuff and attention to detial like butterflies and birds flying past you and the storm bending the trees lighting flashing rain going sideways outweigh any texture issues. 1st of all I have a 4g that I upraded to a 60 gb (see youtube) and The 1st time I played I did get a few freezes but usually in between games. I never had a game in play freeze and very few moments of frame rate loss. The gameplay has been improved greatly and its ez to die just running around with no gameplan. Use the cover its everyfreekin where. The texture gripes I really have only seen on a couple of maps but dont bother me. Most maps are beautiful and the most important part, gameplay is even better than B3. The destruction has been raised a couple of notches and almost everything is either destructable or shows damage, Vehicles seem way faster than B3 and the ocean seemed so real with wave swells tossing u about. I Played for a few hours and I know from B3 that Dice will fix any issues with updates as they did B3. Im completely satisfied and highley recommend . If you like sniping this is much more realistic with gravity and there are longer distances to shoot and buildings galore to perch yourself on. The muzzle fire and tracers are much more numerous and realistic as are the sounds from many guns to explosives , you will think you are there soundwise and gameplay wise, Really the 1,s are not justified must be from ps4 guys lol. Just edited this review after playing again for 2 hours, Did have one freeze in between a game but no problems all is running smoothly here at the hotel via wi fi .This has got me pshyched for a ps4 or xbox one version for xmas. THIS REVIEW IS FOR MULTIPLAYER ONLY I HAVE YET TO PLAY CAMPAIGN AND HONESTLY PROBABLY NEVER WILL UNLESS I LOSE INTERNET SINCE I AM A MULTIPLAYIN TYPE OF DUDE.

Battlefield > Call of Duty
Battlefield has been around longer than Call of Duty, but of course Call of Duty has been receiving more fame, until now. This game takes the meaning of high definition to a whole different level. The meaning of "war" on a battlefield is clearly emphasized in this game. Take your Call of Duty instincts on here and you will die almost all the time. This game is very impressive, and not as close as repetitive as Call of Duty is. The customization on soldiers, weapons, and vehicles is endless. Whether you're good at shooter games or not, you will adapt to the gameplay and understand that you have to have somewhat instincts of a soldier. This game actually feels like you are in the middle of a war (especially on PC with up to 70players to play in a match). Unlike Battlefield, Call of Duty is like a paint balling match. The older releases of Call of Duty (Modern warfare 1 & 2) receive my best reviews because they didn't add so much irrelevant additions to the game, and the creators also produced the best and fairest gameplay for multiplayer mode. Overall, I would choose Battlefield over Call of Duty. Battlefield is changing the gameplay of shooter games and adding a more realistic value to their games. Call of Duty on the other hand, is slacking and running out of ideas.

DO NOT buy this game if you value your sanity
Note: This review concerns the Multiplayer version of Battlefield 4. MAJOR TECHNICAL ISSUES Battlefield 4 (BF4) has a lot of promise on which the developer can't deliver. Options galore to choose from (primary and secondary weapons, different classes for different objectives, multiple vehicles which you can load out to your liking), a large number of maps on which to play with new map packs coming out every couple months or so, play in squads with your friends. Yet none of this matters because EA/Dice/whoever, can't fix the issues that have been present since launch. Battlefield 4 was released on October 29, 2013 (North America) according to wikipedia and I got my copy in December 2013. Here we are on March 9th, 2014, and MAJOR problems persist with this game. I NEVER have a game session without issues. I'm constantly experiencing sound issues, graphical issues and most infuriating, system freezes. Just today (March 9, 2014) the game froze on me, requiring me to restart my Xbox 360, more than 5 times before I just gave up. So here we are, over 4 months after the game was released and even though BF4 has major issues the developer has released two new map packs without fixing the problems first. They have released multiple patches/updates and yet the problems are still present. All of the before mentioned server issues don't even touch on the other, smaller, annoying issues such as your character getting stuck on what seems to be pebbles or 6 inch thresholds in doorways, weapons not doing enough damage (how many times do I have to hit the enemy with a 50 cal machine gun to kill them?) I could go on for days with all the little nags in this game. PRICE In todays world of premium memberships for games, people are paying over $100 to buy the game and become a premium member to get early access to map packs and weapons before everyone else. That's $50 more than all the non-premium members paid. I wish I would have kept that $50 for anything else. I could have lit it on fire and been more satisfied than being a BF4 premium member. EA needs to refund money to the people that became premium members and some of the money that people paid to just buy this game. RUSHED OUT THE DOOR I've read several reports claiming EA rushed this game out to the before it was ready so they could beat a Call of Duty game to the market. I completely believe it. There is NO WAY they did not know about all the issues before releasing it and don't you believe it if they tell you otherwise. EA should not be excused from this. They should be made to pay back all the money they have taken from consumers. They have decieved us and taken our money with a smile. CONCLUSION Don't buy this game if you have any intention of playing the multiplayer version. You WILL get angry and you WILL be paying to support an underhanded company that, if this game is any indication, doesn't give a s*** about their customers.
