Cannot recommend highly enough
We are totally those people that put their toddler on a leash. We live in a pretty scary world and I'm not about to have my baby snatched up.My just turned 2 year old is at that age where he isn't content to hang out in the lillebaby or in the stroller for entire trips...he wants to get down and explore. If you have a toddler, you know that they can be FAST! I don't trust people in general, so I'm not okay with leaving to chance that if my toddler gets away from us that it'll be okay. I want him within arms' reach at all times. This backpack leash has been PERFECT for times when we either didn't want to bring the stroller or when toddler wants to get out of the stroller to explore (like at the zoo). He actually REALLY likes the leash because he knows it means he can get down and run around....plus he can put his snacks and hot wheels in it and that excited him.Just be careful when you first start using it if you are used to walking dogs.....my husband had to fight the urge to "snap" the leash when our kid pulled on it the first few times using it because he was so used to doing that when the dogs pull when we walk them (100+ pound dogs).Overall, this is an excellent investment. We'll be getting another when our 6 month old starts walking for sure! PERFECT for bringing to disney.

Literal Life Saver
Been using this for a year now and it's been a life saver, possibly litterally. I still have my daughter hold my hand, but since she can pull away so easily and frequently, and is so quick, this is a must have. Keeps her from running into the road or running off in parking lots, keeps her from running off in the store, and keeps her close and safe in crowded environments.

Nice little backpack
I was very hesitant to order anything with a leash for my son. I always hated these before having a child. "You're kid isn't a dog" was my thoughts. After a child, especially one that is very independent I started to consider it. I saw another parent at a store with a similar backpack style leash for their son and it seemed to work really well and the child didn't mind it.So I ordered this one. It was lost in the mail during hurricane Harvey and didn't arrive for two weeks. During this time I started to change my mind again. I decided it wasn't arriving and I wasn't ordering another. When it did arrive, my son reached for it immediately. He's 20 months (year and a half) and it fits him well with room to grow. I can fit wipes, 3-4 pull ups and a change of clothes. The side pockets are good for small snacks. And the large mesh pocket is large enough for a munchkin 360 cup to fit (if you know these cups they aren't small cups). So for quick trips out I can grab this bag instead of his large diaper bag and at the store he can wear it so he always has everything he needs. The leash. I slowly got used to the idea of it and my son actually loves it. He thinks he's leading me around. It has some give to it so when he reaches the end it's not a huge jolt to his body. It's not very long which I like as it keeps him within a safe distance from me but gives him a few feet to explore.I have had several compliments on it. Many people have said a leash saved them when their kids were smaller and several said they wish they had this years ago.Overall very good quality bag.

Lifesaver
I have a very rambunctious and impulsive toddler and i felt so much safer going out to thw park if he wanted to see the ducks by the pond. She is very strong so i feel this product is durable. I never felt like he was going to break it and it seemed comfortable enough for him . Will re order!!

This thing is a great little hipster backpack instead of a stupid fuzzy animal
My little guy gets excited and takes off. Fast. We were going to a folk festival with tens of thousands of people and I decided yes, I need to be one of those parents who leashes my kid. It was a win-win. This thing is a great little hipster backpack instead of a stupid fuzzy animal. It's functional and he liked the idea of having a backpack like the big kids. He could carry a few light things himself. The elastic in the leash part actually did provide a small shock absorber / bungee effect so it didn't jerk his neck. The leash can be completely removed by the clip, or kept on and stashed in the mesh back or side sippy cup sleeve. It gives him a sense of autonomoy and is so much better for our backs as parents. We didn't have to bend over to hold his hand, and we had to carry him much less becuase he was able to safely explore. And DANCE! We only use this for large crowd scenarios, BTW. It has actually helped him understand how to stay safe in large crowds. He wore this at age 2. Now that he's 3, we use the leash less and less. He just likes to have his back pack. But we still have the leash, just in case. He now knows how to find a policeman or find the red tents to find help. How you deal with the compliments or criticisms of leashing your kid is a different story. But I will say a lot of parents envied the fact we had this for our kid! And personally I could give a hoot about non-approving humans.

It’s okay, but in my opinion has one design flaw
This backpack style harness is cute, but I don’t think I can use it as a harness (which is what it’s advertised as and what I bought it for). The reason for this is the placement of the strap. They have it latched to the bottom of the backpack instead of the top, so if there is any resistance at all, baby falls down head/hands first, instead of just being able to guide them gentle along. I’m hoping I can maybe tweak it myself, but for the price paid, I shouldn’t have to.

Great but beware of size
It's a great product and shipping was fast. My only reason for leaving four stars and saying beware of the size is that I find the straps a little small. It's a very tiny and cute backpack that measures about 7 inches. My daughter is only 20 months old and she is not oversized but yet I had to adjust the straps to the maximum length. If wearing a Spring jacket, it fits very snug, especially around the belly area. I was hoping to use this until she is three or four years old but looks like it will only last the Spring / Summer. Still worth it for the price. The fact that it's a backpack makes her want to wear it and pretend she's going to school and then she doesn't realize she's "on a leash". Item looks great and is very sturdy. I would simply add an extra two to three inches of strap to allow extra adjustment and it would be the most perfect safety item. Great price, extremely fast shipping. Overall I'm satisfied and would buy again.

good quality but not as described
nice and small... my little one likes to walk around with it... The quality is good, and compartment is big enough to fit is a small book, a toy and some snacks... however, it is different from the description :( the straps are not padded and the connection is different from the picture advertised

Great idea! Good purchase!
My kid LOVES wearing it, will go and get it and give it to me. He hates holdin hands and tries to pull away. This is Win/Win. He’s safe and happy. Holds 4 diapers, pack of wipes, bib, hat, a few bottle liners and a bag of back up formula. Out side mesh holds sippy cup. Not only can he walk independently but he also can cart his own stuff, I couldn’t be happier

For your small traveler with wanderlust...
This backpack is very lightweight and a good size for toddlers. The green/grey option is gender neutral with a nicely accented blue zipper. The straps have a clever design that eliminates adjustable strap flap, but I also think that it limits the range of adjustability. My son is 3-years-old and we have the straps fully extended to give him a proper fit. Product description states that the straps are padded, but they are just a bare nylon, and could cause potential chaffing even though they feel fairly soft. The shock-absorbency on the tether feels pretty minimal, but the right amount of looseness. It doesn't feel like you need a 200-pound man to pull it to get some bounce back. Product description states that the tether has a swivel hook, but it is actually a fixed hook. My son is about 40" tall and I'm 5'3" and the tether feels like a good length to keep my kid close. For visibility, the green is a nice eye-catching colour and having the reflectors on the side is a nice touch as well. However, I'm not sure you could use those mesh side pockets for anything since they are so tiny! The main compartment isn't very large either, but I wouldn't want to be overloading it anyway.
