Is this compatible with mac pro 2009 (4,1) ?

I'd assume so: I dropped mine into a Mac Pro 3,1 (2008), installed Catalina using a hacked installer, and it immediately worked for wifi. Getting Bluetooth 4 working was a little trickier: there's an included cable which plugs into a header on the wifi card, then you'll need something like "Akasa EXUSBIE-40 USB Internal to External Cable" to turn it into a USB plug. Route that out of the back of your Mac and plug it into a spare USB socket. Ugly, but it works. You'll also need to remove the on-board Bluetooth card, which requires unplugging and removing it. For me, everything seems to work flawlessly. AirDrop and Continuity worked without further action. The only thing I can't get working is Sidecar (extending the display to an iPad), but I think that's a genuine hardware limitation of this 12 year-old Mac (!).
