Human Relations: Interpersonal Job-Oriented Skills 12th Edition

I'm new to the Human Resources field. The only thing I know about HR is from watching The Office (Go Toby!!). For context, I am absolutely against spending 4+ years in college trying to get a degree that I might not even have use for at a job. I currently work minimum wage and decided to study for an HR certificate so I can get a job that will help me earn some extra money for a house. I thought it was going to be something complex like accounting or economics but this book is so straightforward. For me, a lot of the subject matter is common sense. For example, you should never try to one-up your manager.....or post derogatory things about your company/boss on social media.You should not hitting your head on your table or getting migraines from this textbook. The content is so easy to understand and there is really no need to beat yourself up over it. Every workplace needs an HR rep to streamline things smoothly and make sure no one is raising Cain. From experience, I've worked at places with no HR people at all and there was so much chaos and drama, people constantly sabotaging and one-upping each other, stealing money and products, etc.Honestly I've learned more from reading this book than from listening to my professor. The self-quizzes in each chapter are really fun too, definitely take them!

Great book for the college student going into business. I have only read the first few chapters and it already has opened my mind to many aspects in communication in the world of business. It's easy to read and gives great examples to support concepts.

I received this book in good condition. There was wear to the book and the covering ripped, but over all it is fine and will work. I did not receive a return label though. Therefore I will have to call Amazon and get that when I am ready to return. I have only started the first chapter since I just got it today, so I cant say anything about the actual book besides the appearance.

So far learning a lot from this book. I want to buy it for future use but it's way too expensive. I'm only renting it.

The media could not be loaded.  Order this book for school cost me $85 dollars, book not in good shape, the spine of the book is tearing apart! Worst purchase ever!!!!!!!!!

Great price to rent this book but I hardly used it for the class I was taking. It was filled with a lot of common sense tactics on social and job hunting skills.

A must for HR trainers.Gives a very good structure to empower the youth for gainful employment and personal development also.
