Q: Is it manufactured by Nitto or merely a generic product?

As far as I am aware, Protapes is a converter of Nitto tapes. In other words, when I need a specific width of a Nitto tape, Protapes can do it (convert from one size to another). We purchase lots of a particular tape on Amazon... SPV224.... and have never had an issue with its performance. What we get appears to be genuine Nitto, and not a generic knock-off.

Q: Do they leave any residue or discoloration when removed?

No they do not. We are currently using them on instruments and this tape works great.
