This is a small, thin book. It contains about 60 pages, 41 of which contain the story (including 4 full-page illustrations). Each page of text contains something like 200-250 words, most of which is short conversational sentences between the characters, so that it sounds more like a play than a story, with different voices.There are also 2 pages of summaries of the chapters,1 page about the mafia, 9 pages of test questions and answers about the story. Everything is in Italian. There is an accompanying CD which lasts about 45 minutes and is read with enthusiasm and at a realistic conversational speed, but with the printed text to refer to, that should not cause problems. The 33 chapters are between 1 and 2 minutes long in general, so after working through the story once you could listen to the story for pleasure.The thriller-style story is interesting, but obviously more action-based than reflective with its limited vocabulary.The price for such a slim book seems a bit steep, but it does have the CD which is very useful for learners.
