Update: Bluetooth on this unit is very good. I don't know what changed between yesterday and today, but the Bluetooth has very usable range. Not five stars because it could be easier to set up. Very, very good.The most important thing is that I am thoroughly enjoying it.The sound produced by this unit is phenomenal; everything I expected and more.Transparent, detailed, capable of reproducing pop, rock, classical, experimental and the human voice on the AM band.FM reception is very good. AM reception, as stated in previous reviews is less good.Five stars for sound and flexibility.One star or less for bluetooth.The bluetooth is very good within a very, very, very limited range. The outside limit of bluetooth reception for this unit seems to be about three or four feet.Two or three stars for set-up and ease of use. This is NOT a user friendly device by any means or measure. Although it can be plug-and-play out of the box for the radio features, be very patient for the bluetooth to find and link to whatever device you choose.Ridiculous: the manual states in writing "it's not intended for near-field (close up) listening like "computer speakers," yeth there is a snooze button on the top of the unit as if it would be appropriate to place this unit on a night stand.Please, please do not place this unit on a night stand.This unit is not a clock-radio.This unit is a high-fidelity sound source.The most important thing is that I am thoroughly enjoying it.The unit is smaller than the dimensions stated in the item description: 14 wide x 5 1/2 high x 10 deep.The most important thing is that I am thoroughly enjoying it.Got it?

The unit is big and bulky, especially for the sound quality. I've had better speakers that were a quarter the size. Also, the FM reception, even with the included external antenna is terrible.

Our of the box it was defective and no longer available on Amazon. Contacted Tivoli directly and was replaced by Tivoli at their expense. The new stereo I have now works beautifully.

Outstanding Sound .. The only problem is the screen is to bright and has no adjustment .

This has been in our bedroom, on a nightstand, for a number of years. We use it as the only music player in the room and as an alarm clock.Sound: Excellent for a small bookshelf system. No music system without remote speakers provides true stereo separation, but the sound quality from the two speakers and built-in, downward-facing small woofer is clear, full, and has plenty of volume for a good-sized room. It's a big advantage of this system.Ways to play music: has a radio (i have a wire antenna attached, reception for AM/FM is very good), an auxiliary input, and bluetooth. The aux could play any device, including a CD player, but this doesn't play CDs as a stand-alone....there is a similar Tivoli table radio that does. I use the bluetooth primarily with an ipod touch; it initially takes a bit to connect if i haven't used bluetooth for a while, but the connection is good and sounds very good to excellent - you have to jog the volume up somewhat if using bluetooth rather than the auxiliary input. If you stream music to a phone and connect by bluetooth, it will play from the phone, but it doesn't have its own spotify/pandora capability or wifi.alarms: two of them, you can set them independently. you can also set the radio station and volume level. reasonably easy to set up after you figure it out - though not immediately intuitive, and the buttons are really small.clock: reasonably easy to set, has bright and dim levels. i find bright annoying on a nightstand, dim is fine. very visible in the dark.size: it has a fairly large footprint for a nightstand. nice-looking, though.remote - it comes with a remote control. the range is limited, couple of feet, and you have to point directly at the receiver. this is a bit finicky, but it works.quality - perfect after a number of years of periodic use. we don't blast music for hours on end with it, but we use it while in/around the room, sitting and reading across the room.overall, very good. for someone who craves built-in streaming, they have newer and more expensive products that do that. for great sound quality, great looks, and very good functionality, we're very happy with it.
