Do YOU believe in magic? You will when the Spoonful casts its good time musical spell ...
The sound is excellent. The tracks, for the most part, are legendary (here in the US, anyway). The front cover is one of the best, originally used for 1968's Best of the Lovin' Spoonful, Volume 2 LP. John Sebastian was never better, before or after, than this golden 1965-68 period as a singer or a songwriter. And the band lends him stellar support throughout. My one gripe is that the songs are not chronologically arranged, a minor quibble, I suppose, but still important to me. Highly recommended import.

I love the Lovin' Spoonfuls
Now this is music !Brings back a ton of memories. John Sebastian has had a varied career as a singer, songwriter, and musician. As the leader of the folk-rock band the Lovin' Spoonful, he was responsible for a string of Top Ten hits in 1965-1967 that included the chart-toppers "Daydream" and "Summer in the City," and he returned to number one in 1976 as a solo artist with "Welcome Back." He wrote or co-wrote those hits as well as many others, along with songs used on Broadway and in the movies. And as an instrumentalist, primarily playing harmonica, he has accompanied a wide range of artists including Judy Collins, Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Doors, Bob Dylan, the Everly Brothers, Art Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot, Laura Nyro, Graham Parker, Dolly Parton, Peter, Paul & Mary, John Prine, and Bonnie Raitt.

Some Great Hits
Loving Spoonful had lots of GREAT songs. Some were radio hits some were not. Has great #1 hits but is missing some of their best songs. There are several greatest hits compilations with some different songs. Make sure this has all the songs you want.

Different Artwork Same Hits
The artwork on my The Very Best of the Lovin' Spoonful was different from the picture shown, but the titles are the same. I bought this CD for just one reason, so I could get Summer In The City. To me that was their best song out of all of them, but all of their hits are on this CD.

Love them "Lovin Spoonfuls" !
Great CD which took me right back to a gentler, kinder, simpler time. Classical music (& opera in particular) has been my main thing for years, but who can ever forget the great music of one's childhood ? Not I, that's for sure. + transaction.

Great music! Broken plastic CD case
Love the Lovin’ Spoonful! Have it on original LP’s so wanted it on CD.Bought it but came with a cracked CD case. Why not package it in cardboard so it won’t get damaged like other CD’s I’ve bought on Amazon?Don’t want to give the music less than 5 stars but the packaging is 1/5.

Thanners55 ; Fantastic value from the alternative Monkees!
Obviously we all know and love their two most famous tracks (Daydream, and the stonking Summer in the City;both great for a hot and sunny afternoon). However I was unfamiliar with the rest of their tracks which proved a very pleasant surprise. What we have here is a very good quality pop music, mixed with a little Country. Really good value and an essential to add to your collection if your a fan of 1960's cuts.
