It has an inner bin but does it also have an inner ring to hold tight the bin bag so it doesn't collapse inside? I don't want a fiddly bin.

This bin does NOT have an inner ring, but the bag that you put into can be trapped between the lid and the plastic inner bin. I have found that the standard Pedal Bin bags work fine.

what the side of the 40l bin please

Height is 24inches width is 11 inches lovely looking and fits well in a corner and hold quite a lot i put in an ordinary size bin bag it's a little big but does the job hope this helps.
