Great timer - Discovered you can even set the seconds for on/off
These are really slick & reliable. I have two - one that I've had for over a year and another I just received. They state up to 16 on/off programs but my new one actually has 28! I use one for cycling 12v power to my wifi router for a nightly reboot. The other I use to cycle 120v power to my laser holiday lights because the laser lights otherwise only stay on for 6 hours. I took the holiday lights down last year and one year later I took them out of storage and the programs and clock were still held in memory and still accurate. As noted the battery keeps the memory but the relay only operates when 12v is applied on the power terminals. But you can cycle off the 12v power as I do with my holiday lights at dawn, then when 12v is reapplied (at dusk) the timer operates the relay again on the set schedule. One thing the manual does not mention is that you can also adjust the seconds for each on/off time. To set seconds, when you are in program mode for any on/off sequence, just press the "manual button" to advance the seconds - it shows the seconds on the screen, in addition of course to day, hour, and minute. So for the router I use just one program set to on at 2:00:15 and off at 2:00:00 - therefore off for just 15 seconds at 2:00 AM. Really slick, love these!

Functional
These work great and are cheap.

Running landscape lights
It is a small unit. Programs easily. I threw out female spade terminals and wire included and added heavier terminals with heat shrink covers. The fit is tight but possible. Once timer screen is unlocked you can manually turn on lights too. Running six landscape lights for six hrs a day seven days a week. Has been cold, 0° and no issues. Two group 27 batteries are fed power by a victron controller and 200 watts of renolgy solar.

rechargeable battery still works after five years
I got one five years ago and it worked great for my purpose all summer. After not using for several years, it still works for a new project. I thought the backup battery would be dead; but it charged up and is working well enough so when I disconnect to move it, it keeps all my timer settings.

Works like a champ
I needed a simple timer to control the low voltage house number light fixture of my home. The light is powered by the doorbell transformer and was on constant. Setup, install, and programming was a snap. The timer has a useful red light indicating the "on" mode. The only negative is the programming does not allow overlapping programs, i.e, one program for winter hours and one for summer. It does allow on at 2 pm, off at 3 pm, then on at 4pm, etc.9

A cheap chinese timer that works ok, just like a cheap chinese timer would be expected to work
I installed this timer on my RV to control some of the exterior 12 volt lights so I dont have to manually turn them on and off every night, and the lights will still turn on for nights I'm not at the rv.I'd say the quality of the product is about on par for chinese products manufactured soley for cost, rather than longevity or quality. Case in point, the device has an internal watch battery, which makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately the plastic housing will obviously be a nightmare to open and probably break the first time I need to replace the battery. There are a thousand ways that this could have been designed so that it lasts, but it isn't.As for functionality so far so good, but I only implemented last week. I don't have high expectations that the device will stand the test of time, I'm certain the components are of the cheapest quality. The device comes with instructions but they are subpar like most chinese products of this sort. They are in broken english, unclear - especailly when it comes to the quirky programming (again because of poor software/systems engineering), and far from complete. At least there was a simple elecrical diagram that made my implementation possible, but if I were doing something different, such as using 12v dc to control an ac circuit I'd be very unlear and worried about cooking things - either cooking the device or worse the fire department coming for a house bbq.Overall, the device works for my dc implementation for today. I'd absolutely prefer an American made product of much higher quality rather than "chinese garbage", but unfortunately these are the only products available for this type of application these days.

Works but bench test after programing and before using
Followed directions on back of instructions for wiring diagram. Simple to wire with 2 power options. LED display too small and needed a 10 x lens to read. Just because you can display in 2 points does not mean the users can read it. Program seemed straight forward but did not turn on the device when expected. The timer removed from wall and put into bench test mode. Program showed on but no electricity flow when tested. After unlocking manual button pushed until display showed on. The electricity started to flow and red light came on in the front of the timer showing electricity is flowing. Timer seems to be working properly now.
