Yes, you do have to wreck the originals to get em apart, but the new ones are just clipped together. I don't remember exactly where the clips are but I think I watched a video on YouTube about. All very easy once you see the video

Actually key fob is required with starting the engine. There is a built in chip that must be programmed to turn on the engine.
