Amazon Basics Wooden Birdhouse

As another reviewer noted, this birdhouse doesn't meet the ideal specs for bluebird houses. The hole is not the right size and there doesn't seem to be adequate ventilation. I wish I'd read the reviews before I ordered, because bluebirds are picky and I'd rather not take a chance with a house that doesn't meet their needs. I was able to grind the hole out to 1.5 inch, and drilled a few small ventilation holes in the sides of the house near the apex of the roof, so hopefully that will be good enough.2020 update: in early March a pair of bluebirds were checking out this house every morning for a few days, but now I haven't seen them for a month, so it looks like they opted not to live in this house. A wren eventually took ownership of the house.2021 update: One year later and again I had a pair of bluebirds checking out this house in early March and choose not to use it. I doubt I'll ever get bluebirds to use this house.

I bought this one to replace an old one that I have had in my backyard. The build quality is alright. You can see in some spots the splinters and/or wood split. It didnt matter to me because I was going to spray paint it anyways. So once I was done painting the Birdhouse, all of those "damages" disappeared. For the price, I have nothing to complain about.

I was looking for roosting boxes and decided to substitute this birdhouse because it was very economical. It's worked well this winter. If it had a copper piece around the opening it would make an excellent three-season birdhouse for bluebirds.

Out of 4, 3 were usable, the door on 1 was cracked from a screw. Had to drill out the holes to 1 1/2 as they were too small for our blue feathered friends

Well built, thought out home for our little friends. Very easy to clean and maintain. Comes raw and unfinished so options are available: Paint, stain, seal or leave unprotected for a weathered look. Took our guests about four days to find it. I suspect we'll be at full capacity early next spring :-)

Finally put this out as the weather is good. However once I tried to put the first screw in the wood split. I tried again with a small drill hole, split again. It looks nice but the wood is so fragile it will most likely never last.

Happy with purchase. Yes, it is true you are not getting some of the features on the bird houses costing twice as much (if not more), but easy to adapt. True, needed some more ventilation. I drilled two holes at an upward angle on top of both sides to help air get in, but harder for rain to make it in hole. Added predator guard to front opening. Now, wait and see...

This is a great bird house. I originally thought the hole was too small for birds to enter, but this summer we had many bluebirds nesting here! Seems to have held up well in the cold & snowy northeast!

Assemblato in modo poco preciso, lo sportellino si apre con difficoltà e se c’è umidità bisogna tirare molto forte. Non si sono buchi per appenderlo ma solo due viti .... Non lo ricomprerei

Il mio giardino era praticamente un'area di servizio per cardellini e passeri; appena ho posizionato la casetta neanche l'ombra di un becco. Stupidi uccelli snob
