This is a great throw. Our dog likes to sleep on our bed, so our light-colored duvet gets dirty pretty fast (especially if she's just been outside in the rain). I was using a plain white bedsheet to protect the bed, which works fine but didn't look great. Decided to upgrade to this throw, which does the job and looks beautiful! No, it's not waterproof, but it keeps the everyday dirt and dog hair off the duvet. And throwing this blanket in the wash every once in a while is much easier than washing a king size duvet. And of course... my dog absolutely loves it, it is so soft and snuggly! I gave it 4 stars because it does shed a tiny bit (not enough to bother me, but I know that's an issue for some), and the way the shaggy side is put together, depending on how it's laying you can sometimes see where the strands attach to the fabric underneath. I still think it's a great blanket though. I'm using it on my bed but wouldn't hesitate to use this in my living room. For the price I'm completely satisfied.

If you're looking for a very warm blanket, or one that's going to see heavy use (kids, pets, etc), this one isn't for you.If you're looking for a light blanket that: can ward off a light chill (like with late spring/early autumn), feels soft as angel down, and will look nice draped over the back of a couch or something when not in use...then you might like this blanket.I cannot stress enough how soft it is. I really love it. When I stoke the fibers, I can see the underlying weave they attach to. This seems normal for this style of blanket, and very few fibers were lost in a trip through the washer, then dryer. If I tug on the fibers, they feel pretty solidly attached, but this is one of those blankets where a lot of rough handling is going to tear the thing to pieces in just a couple days, if that.Overall, if you're just looking for a light blanket that you know will be treated gently, you'll probably like this one.

This shag throw is well made, thick, and luxurious feeling. It is nice enough to use in the living room, which is where I have it in twin size as a throw over a large side chair to keep the cat fur off the upholstery. The cat loves it too, BTW. As you might expect, the shag does flatten down after you sit on it, but it easily fluffs back up with a shake. The back is thick and cozy feeling, but overall the throw is light weight. I haven't washed it yet, but the washer should easily handle it. Highly recommend.

I got this for my grandma for Christmas after she mentioned wanting a new blanket. This one definitely made her happy. It's light, soft as angel down, and easy to clean. It's a little weird to be able to see so easily between the fibers, but that doesn't seem to affect the quality.It looks great draped across the back of grandma's couch, too.Totally recommend this one!
