Easy to install alternative to hard wire dashcam
Using it with a nextbase 622 camera, only issue is that the micro usb connector is a little fatter than the housing in the magnetic mount so had to be filed down to fit. Would have gone directly to the camera with no problem. Easy to run the cable around the car under the linings and then to plug into the obd socket which was much easier than trying to hard wire into the fuse box. Really good product and a switch option to maintain power for parking mode or cut power after 5 mins. Excellent value.

I wish I'd found this sooner
Hard wiring a dashcam is the way to go and the last time I did this, I had to dig about the fuse box (a lot) and wire it in properly - a pain and minor paranoia about getting the right fuse, getting the piggyback right, etc This, however, was significantly easier - plug it in (test it first of course), route wires, done. Took me about 20 minutes to connect and run the wires for the front (and rear) cameras. The biggest problem I had was trying to pretend it was harder than it looked It works. The 5 minute delay works exactly as it says, but I didn't try the other method of leaving it until the battery is low - I might do if I'm parked somewhere iffy, but probably not. Next car I get, I'll be using this - and I'll recommend it to anyone else.

Great piece of hardware, but sometimes pop out from the socket.
I've purchased two of those for myself and my friends also bought it for their cars. All total 4 different cars - BMW x3, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsa D and Zafira A. Easiest installation was for Corsa D - just plug the plug in. Unfortunately, vibrations makes the plug to fall out - time to time it need to be pushed back. Zafira and Focus needed OBD socket to be removed from holding frame - otherwise trap door wold not close. It was quick and easy operation - now they're just pusshed innto the depths under the handbrake or behind the fuse boxes (focus). BMW - was more problematic as remember - there was no option to hide the socket with sticking hard wire plug and button.

Good length and power
Good length on the wire. Installed my dash cam with ease and managed to hide all the wires. A great alternative to the usual cigarette lighter or hardwiring to the battery.

Good bit of kit
Wanted to fit a dash cam into my 2008 Fiat Panda . My model doesn't have a cig lighter socket so needed alternate power source. So easy to fit by removing cover of fuse box in drivers side foot well and plugging in . Wiring to cam hidden behind rubber door trim and roof lining. Plug is switched for either constant power or only on when ignition on to save running battery down . Best to check what usb power connection you need. My cam ,also made by Ssontong, required a mini USB . Some cams need a micro USB. Wish I had known about these adapters years ago !

KILLS YOUR BATTERY! Had to buy a brand new one from using this! Wasted £300 due to it!
I put this in my sports car which I do not drive every day (2 or 3 times a week), The car kept struggling to turn over, After maybe 2 months of checking & spending quite a lot of money at the garage they resulted in this being the cause, Not only did it drain my battery but it ended up KILLING IT completely, Even with a AA Trickle charger which I purchased to repair the battery it was too far gone. Mechanics resulted this kept full power on (even when the switch was turned to the OFF part!) when the car was off. So thanks! I had to spend over £300 in labor costs and a brand new battery purely due to this. SERIOUSLY do not buy.

Good
Device works perfectly but in my car (Renault Zoe) the OBD socket is under a tray on the centre consul and the tray does no longer go back on due to height of device, thicker would be better for me than taller.

Seems a easier and better way to power your dashcam
Seems good value and quick to install. One note is to check that your OBD port is backed up by a fuse, I think most cars are but it's worth checking with your local dealer
