Quality product
This black stain was recommended to us by our landscape gardener and it didn’t disappoint! We used it to spray our fence and it covered really well. A quality product, hence the price.

Is it worth the price tag?
Applied to my garden fence a few weeks now, so far so good. Love the colour (light oak) seem to be coping well with the rainy days. Expensive product, we required three 5 litre tins so would like to see how it fares through this winter to agree fully that it does what it says on the tin.

Good stuff.
Brilliant product, very expensive, but as this is my third tin, I would have to say it is worth it…..

Lasts ages
Does what is stated in the tin, covering for a large timber clad extension. Looks amazing, lasts for ages. Recomended.

Good overall look versus high cost
I pressure washed the panels, gave them a light rub with sand paper, hosed them down and let them dry for a few days. Maybe this made the wood very porous, but I found the Sadolin wood stain didn't spread very well and just soaked in which consequently reduced the coverage. The wood stain is already very expensive when compared to competitors, so I was a little disappointed when 2x 2.5L tins only covered six 6x6ft featheredge fence panels, which I believe gives a coverage of 4msq/l which is quite a bit less than the advertised "up to 8msq/l for rough sawn wood".However, I've tried applying a second coat in places and found it's gliding over and not soaking in like the first coat, so it seems the first coat has done the job well. Besides the obvious cost, I can't comment on durability properly as it's only been a few days since staining the fence but so far the water seems to be running off fine and on the bars on the back of the gate the water is collecting in little bubbles on top of the wood.Putting the cost aside, we're very happy with the colour and having a fence that looks like wood again.

Good quality, but expensive.
The finish with this product is good, but coverage was about half that given on the label. This makes for a very expensive fence stain.
